If you had to list the top 20 games which define the Daggers history - not necessarily just the big cup games, but league games too.

Obvious starters:

V Portsmouth in L2
V Sheffield Wednesday L1
V Morecambe 6-0 POSF League 2
V Rotherham POF League 2
V Charlton FAC
V Plymouth FAC
V Exeter FAC
V Everton FAC
V Woking FAT final

Go on… please add more

Hampton and Richmond away in 2000 to clinch the Ryman League. We actually beat Purfleet the week before which absolutely never happens and fully expected them to derail our title.

In terms of history defining, probably also the golden goal loss to Doncaster. And the two defeats in two weeks in 2002 to Leigh and Nuneaton which effectively ruined our title bid, after we'd just beaten Boston at home. I think Stein got sent off in one of them.

The game we won to clinch the Conference, Aldershot in 2007. But tbh, the draw at Oxford is probably what actually did it, Sloma's massive equaliser.

For me, games that i think had a huge impact on Dagenham’s history, or just last in the memory, since I have been going are:
Dagenham 1 - 2 Shrewsbury 2009
Dagenham 5 - 0 Shrewsbury 2009
Dagenham 2 - 1 Burton 2010
Dagenham 1 - 3 Southampton 2011
Dagenham 5 - 0 Rotherham 2012
Dagenham 6 - 6 Brentford 2014

Then obviously the Solihull game just gone will always be remembered for the wrong reasons.

Hello Auntie
You asked for games “which define the Daggers history”.
May I be a little left field and suggest;
D&R 0 Hereford 9 from Feb 2004?
Why? Because this game marked the beginning of the end for Garry Hill who was shortly to be replaced by one John Still. After which the long glorious climb to the sunny uplands of the League 1 could begin.............

Dear Lord Snooty

That game never happened and has been erased from my memory.

Positive thoughts only please. There is a good reason for me asking this question.

Hello Auntie
I suggested that debacle as an example of how it is always darkest before the dawn....however, I agree, let us expunge that result from the records forever.
As an alternative – (sorry, another defeat) – Aug 2013 - Stockport 1 Dagenham and Redbridge 0.....
Our first game in the Football League.
Also, it was the first time ever that an Asian player, Anwar Uddin, had captained a team in the Football League.
Onwards and Upwards!

My favourite away game of all time. You’re right that’s when we won it, they weren’t catching us after that.
