Sad news, one of the best strikers we’ve ever had. RIP Cav.

Dreadful news if true.
Can someone please point me to the source as it appears a number of internet sources have removed this information.

Sadly this is being reported on the Macclesfield and Stafford Facebook sites as well as newspaper site for Macclesfield.

Terrific forward, not sure we have had many, if any better, in the 33 years since.

I remember a cup game against Wealdstone played at Watford in 92/93 on a quagmire of a pitch where Cav ran riot and grabbed two or three goals.

Very sad news indeed if true.

B*st*n United are now reporting this, so I have moved it back to the main forum. I trust they will have checked their sources. (I am still slightly suspicious because Macclesfield's initial post, whilst being indexed on google, was deleted shortly after posting and has not been reinstated).

RIP Cav. Thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him. 63 is no age at all.
