Pinched from the conference forum.

This shows the highest paid players in league 2.

We talk about getting back into the football league, but is it now sustainable?

We can’t even be self sustainable at this level, heard we’re losing £120,000 a month with the only thing to show for it is the worst pro side in the country.

According to this article MKdons are paying a forward £13,000 a week and also Crawley are paying a goalkeeper £4,000 a week who is currently their second choice goalkeeper. If this article is anywhere near the truth the football world has gone completely mad.
I'm treating it with a pinch of salt because if not we may just as well give up because who can compete with that!

I didn't even get as far as the club by club bit of the article - this sentence told me all I needed to know: "drawing on ESTIMATED figures by Salary Sport", I.e. that these figures are pretty much made up with no actual basis.

Doesn’t shock me at all if it’s true. We are probably paying a considerably higher average wage now than what we were in our last league two season, despite being 2 leagues below and the players 10 times more useless,

We’re just as mad as the rest of the progressional clubs, unfortunately.
