A lot of our players were signed on at the beginning of the season on just one year deals that will be coming to an end in a few months time. Once Anwar Uddin gets his feet under the table we will need to decide soon as to who will be in our plans for next season.
I think our number one priority I believe, is to put Joe Haigh on a extended contract. He is only young but he is an exciting player to watch and is one of the few players that runs at defenders and can both score goals and create for others.
It would be a great shame if he left us at the end of the season for nothing. There will be some who will perhaps say he can be frustrating to watch as he sometimes makes the wrong decision, that may be true but if he was perfect he would then probably be playing in the championship or league one, so please get him signed soon if finances allow.

Carroll signed a three year contract. Dieng, Graham, Howes, Lusala, Marsh and Nightingale all signed for two years. Everyone else is out of contract in the summer so as you say we need to make decisions on players we really want to keep rather than leaving it till the last minute and losing any we want to keep. Obviously the money available will impact on this

Well what a cracking bit of business it was to sign Marsh and Dieng for 2 years. It’s like Hessenthaler & N’Guessan all over again but somehow even worse.

I completely understand the thoughts on Haigh, there would also be strong calls for Young to be extended too. But also there is a case that if either were good enough to be playing in a league higher then the would not have been part of such a poor season for us. If we tie down both, then I won’t be unhappy at all. But if both leave, I also won’t care at all. I think the only one I’m that bothered about is Leech, but maybe that’s more because I hope he can be a Dagenham signing of old, rather than believe he will be.

Are we holding a street party when N’Guessan leaves ?

Can't imagine the likes of Dieng would sign for us without the security of two years. He's technically excellent but he needs legs around him, unfortunately we didn't recruit any.

I think we mostly went for one year deals with a view to going up and being able to heavily change the squad as required. That has proven to be a bit delusional.

Marsh is the biggest mistake on the list, two years for a guy who offers nothing.

We have to secure Haigh on a longer deal. After ten games I thought he was dreadful, technically good but with appalling decision making and final pass. He's improved immeasurably and is now our best player.
