Chippenham Town [a]
I do hope your right!
Chippenham had enough chances to win two games - they had a strong claim for a penalty in the 1st half (I was standing behind the 4th official and he said he would have given it!) Also two shots from point blank range where they hit it straight at Howes; another one early in the 2nd half lobbed over Howes but slowly enough for Dieng to clear off the line.
Our goal came from a goalkeeping clanger. Haigh swung in a high free kick from the left, the goalie came out to claim unchallenged but dropped it at the feet of Andy Carroll, who smashed it in the top corner from a tight angle.
For once we managed to survive 8 minutes of stoppage time. A win is a win, but we were outplayed for most of the game and very lucky to come away with anything.

If you look at our points total of fourteen, what is strange is that we have accrued both seven at home and the same amount away. We have also conceded twice the amount of goals at home than away. This is probably down to being more attack minded at home but equally completely wide open and without a change of personnel is unlikely to alter.
It just confirms how abysmal our home form has been and what possible changes should be made in order to improve this.Perhaps get Kalambayi back and playing for us may be a start if not an equally good replacement from somewhere or a change in formation but something certainly needs altering and quick before it’s too late.

Don't let anybody be fooled by our glamorous one nil win against the team bottom of the league. We'll certainly take the three points, but if you were watching that game as a neutral then you would have had no idea which team was bottom. We scored with the only moment of quality in the game (albeit coming from a goalkeeping howler), and that was all we created. Chippenham created more, and if they could finish a dog's dinner then they would have come out of the game with at least a point.
I also can't fully agree with Lens assessment above that we concede so many goals at home because of our attacking outlook when playing at home. The problem that we have is that our keeper is shaky, our defence is crap, our midfield is non existent and our strikers poor. That's why we concede so many goals, regardless of whether home or away.

Not surprised to hear we scraped yet another win, not once this season have we won comfortably. It’s a vital 3 points as we try and keep our heads above the drop zone, another 6 pointer this weeks against Farnborough who got a win against a good Maidenhead side at the weekend. Farnborough have much better players than Chippenham, play like that it will be certain defeat.
We can only hope we pick up wins here and there until this god awful manager is finally binned.
