Did anyone attend the the event yesterday and what did they think of how things went, was it interesting and worth going?

I was there. I think I was the only 55 year old getting autographs from the players without a youngster in tow but that was only my second visit to the grounds so special permission to me.

The club showed off the home lockers and the person that runs the Community Trust gave a talk about the lockers and West Ham ladies using the space.

They had a space to kick a football into a net for target practice. The shop was open but they are 3 weeks out from new kits for adult size. I asked about adult sizes and instead of getting a small adult I went for a scarf. That seemed like authentic English Football enough.

Before I left I was able to get a picture with Digger the Dog and I was told he is from the US. And I talked for a good bit with the Community Trust person as well.

I would not have paid for it but for free I am glad I went, but I will be there for one more home match and then back to the States and likely not able to afford a trip back this way for two years or so.

Steve Thompson did email me on Wednesday after he found my email from a few weeks ago in his JUNK folder. He asked that I send in a picture and they would include a small bit about me in the program on Monday. I know many on this board do not care for Steve, but I will give him credit for reaching out to a fan that clearly is not able to spend much money on the club throughout the season with tickets and such. I did not get a chance to meet him at the open house.
I am so tired of the heat and humidity of the summers in the southeastern USA.
