Club Captain and Vice Captain

Tim Dieng appointed Club Captain with Andy Carroll as Vice Captain. With their experience and apparent leadership skills that seems very sensible appointments.
From a personal point of view, always thought an outfield player as captain made more sense than a goalkeeper.

Agree that an outfield player is a better option for captain but where does the influence of our vice captain come from.. the physio room? The man is always injured and in my opinion a liability , hope im proven wrong but I doubt it.

AC wants to play football at the age of 36, has enough money to probably retire comfortably at this young age but still wants to be involved. Clearly he is motivated to help us achieve something this season and that is vital on and off the pitch. If we get 20-25 games out of him it would be a real bonus and he will put bums on seats which means money into the club. Astute signing.

I agree that if we can get a reasonable number of games out of him he could be a huge asset for us, on and off of the pitch.
