Southend at home on Saturday. Our biggest game of the season. Yet no advertising from the club on socials. There’s a reason our support is so shit. They have just posted telling people not to bring pyros though. Pathetic

Totally agree about the lack of promotion of the game, managed to promote the rubbish NL cup game against west ham but nothing for this. Bet there are people willing to attend that don’t even know seats are pretty much sold out.

I see on their forum that many of their fans have had tickets refunded for home sections, we can afford to turn down money now?

I'm sure none of our fans want away fans in the home end. It's good to see the club putting the safety of fans before profits. Especially as Southend fans seem to make a big thing of us being rivals.

I doubt these fans would kick off and just keep themselves to themselves. They’ll just end up paying on the gate. When all we hear is we need to save money, tight budget and can’t afford to keep themselves club captain turning money down is somewhat laughable. I’ll have the pleasure of sitting in the Carling stand this week, last time I did I almost a row with some miserable old git because I dared say something about the ref and stood up when we nearly scored.

People will moan but clubs with big support who can sell the tickets should be offered the whole Carling Stand too.

Dagenham fans who are not able to stand can sit in the Family Stand.

They should give Southend the whole stadium bar the big away end, let’s face it our proper fans can all fit in that. Make money whilst you can.

As a long termer in the TBS/Samuels Southend en Masse wanna thank themselves lucky to be in the best stand in the ground with bar facilities, I don't rate that away section at their place at all especially if your over 6 foot, if it wern't for golden days and memories of what that Seafront was all about years bygone pretty sure wouldn't bother walking backwards up to Roots Hall. Give them big credit though they travel away in good numbers even if they drop the guard. This Season looks as if its sustaining Mid table again which of course is totally frustrating, never seem to hold a winning roll more than 4 to 5 games but this one is one of the biggest so I do believe pending the Gales dont hit us were in for a good game, both sides have had 3 nil drubbings and a fair bit of effort needed to put right, great memories of what Josh Walker done for us here and hope his off his game.

Brilliant idea, sounds a great selling point when club are asking supporters to renew season tickets at end of season! We could do with more like you with these radical thoughts!

I give up my season ticket when required in the big away stand and have no complaints as I know it makes the club extra cash, if we have to give away more space to accommodate others teams fans and it results in a extra squad player why not do it? Like everyone at this club it’s just stuck in its ways and some never like change fans and board, it’s what’s holding us back. Southend could have probably sold over 2000, talking about £15-£20k in lost revenue it’s madness.

If we had more people who think like me with `radical thoughts’ the club might change for the better and have some success, instead of the utter dross being served up. Dinosaur in charge. Shit match day experience.

You don't sound as though you get much out of your visits to Victoria Road but admire your tenacity in still attending if you do.

I have been to twice as many away games as home games so far this season. It’s a chore to attend home games now. Can’t even take the edge off the day with a half time pint because the club is so archaic.

Just to be clear, and, whilst your constant misery and doom-mongering is always mildy amusing, you're now saying that the problem the club has is not letting a load of rival fans sit in the middle of the home end on the day of the biggest derby of the season ? Even for you that is a stretch.

I trust they'll all be cheering Justham on now that 'everyone knows' he signed for Southend this month as you predicted.

And here we have it another person happy to plod along with zero change around the club and doesn’t like any criticism or an opinion that differs to their own, where are them North Korean flags. As for Justham watch this space on that one, he won’t be our number one next season that’s certain. Southend is not a derby game for them they don’t care about us, only a few kids that come twice a season whip up a pretend rivalry. Also, if the current owners continue with a butchering of the squad of all its experience and setting a tiny budget as hinted Hornchurch will be our derby before long, enjoy.

There’s nothing wrong with different opinions however, for the club to knowingly allow Southend fans into the home end doesn’t sound a particularly good idea and should not be encouraged just because it may bring in extra income. You could just imagine the criticism the club would receive if anyone got injured because of this. The club have recently signed a couple of players and also now have Terry Connor assisting the manager so see no reduction in budget taking place. The problem seems to start on here a because somebody says something and others think it is fact and that is not often the case. Also there are some “experts” on here that just seem to criticise the club for almost everything they do.
We just all need to get behind the new manager now.
