Which brain dead idiot at the National League thought it was a good idea to have a round of fixtures same night as an England match on terrestrial tv, be our worst league crowd for many a year.
Current run is 7 wins in 28 games from 2024, massive week for the manager as the owners expect play offs, deluded if they think this squad is anywhere good enough striker wise. Come 10-12 games into a season you’ll know where we will be come April so nothing but a win is a must here with Gateshead who are flying and visit us Saturday for a TV humiliation.
Fun supporting is isn’t it.
Sutton (H)
National League aren't famed for sense. In a couple of weeks, a number of clubs have to do 2 long haul Saturday/Tuesday away trips.
We never get more than 1300 on a Tuesday night. Sutton tend to bring about 300. So maybe we'll scrape 1200.
Sutton are no great shakes but without Akinola and presumably Ling we are once again looking short. If we have to go with a Rees/N'Guessan midfield duo then I think we'll lose.

Not expecting a big turnout tonight. England are playing and the weather is crap, not to mention the results being far from inspiring either…
Again, tonight is a must win. Sutton lost their last match 3-0 at home to Boston. If we can’t beat that then we really are in trouble this season. No excuses whatsoever.

I am so tired of the heat and humidity of the summers in the southeastern USA.
Took the train for once so I have to spend the 48 stops on The District Line doing something,
Well worked opener slightly against the run of play but another good finish from Rees. Nice to get the cushion of a two goal lead for once and then we sort of invited Sutton to score for a good ten minute spell whilst simultaneously conspiring to miss chances for 3-0.
We also had our very own NL version of VAR as we had what we thought was our third goal ruled out after we'd all celebrated. Piss poor from the officials even if it was the correct decision. Relieved then to finally wrap it up. Pereria again very good and back line pretty solid, save for that spell when Vincent was getting rinsed down their right which Ben rightly addressed.

Now the SE27 Dagger
Great to see a few goals go in, but the clean sheet is huge, especially with the second half pressure that we invited on us.RM1Dagger wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 10:08 pm Took the train for once so I have to spend the 48 stops on The District Line doing something,Well worked opener slightly against the run of play but another good finish from Rees. A win and clean sheet combo for the first time since last November. Brilliant night with so many superb individual performances across the pitch. Pereira is just ridiculous. Kalambayi and Rendall were superb, while Phipps filled in really well as a midfielder.
Amazing night in horrific conditions it should easily have been a 5 nil or higher, other than slight problem down our left side second half and correctly sorted it was an outstanding unity by the whole team to get this 2nd win at last with special mention to N'Guessan, Kalambayi and of course Dion again who seemed the central drivers. Surely confidence must be good now to rock up rested leaders Gateshead Saturday if we carry on from here, more of please!

I thought Eastman was outstanding, he must be a joy to play alongside. I also thought Greco-Cox's cameo made a difference with his movement, at a time when the game wasn't quite put to bed.

Credit where it's due.
The boys were outstanding, if it wasn't for Pereira anyone could have been motm. Solid all over the pitch. Special praise for Morias who ran himself ragged. After taking a fair amount of flak in recent matches he was a menace to Sutton. Hopefully a goal will come for him soon.
And well done also to Strevs, can't be easy trying to put out sides with so many injuries.
A good night indeed.
