Poor, poor performance last night. The goal was a catalogue of errors, from the careless giving away of the corner to it eventually flying into the net after Robinson elected to not even jump with his man.
One shot on target. Four straight league defeats on the road without scoring. Cracks are appearing rapidly.
Beyond our strong first eleven, there's too many reserve players not dependable enough.

Agreed. Despite it being clear that the squad was too thin and let’s be honest it’s fine saying we are going quality over quantity but for that to work at any club you need 12 or 13 that are among the best in their positions in the NL and no injuries, the former is an interesting debate the latter very unlikely. Having lost 5 games in 13 you’d expect a similar performance over a season probably puts you in the top ten and I feel that’s about right for this team with no additions. It seems no new faces are likely so we have just got to hope we have more good days than bad to get in the play offs.

Interesting comments Joel .
Don't think it was poor it was not good enough in certain areas granted , the areas where games are decided .
Once again our defence 95% of the match looked solid but in that 5% we lost the game.
Don't want to be hard on Wilson but Saturday and last night we saw his shortcomings . With a choice of two from Macca , Walker or Balanta you would have been a bit more confident of getting back in the game but as hard as he tried you never felt Wilson looked likely. Perhaps he needs a focal point to play off and with Macca he might have done a lot better. Simply can't ever see him scoring the goals with either of the other two.
As for the squad issue it must be remembered the gamble on Phipps looks a busted flush and also Walker we always knew the hardest part was keeping him fit.
A couple of cute loans look needed to me at the very least . That rock solid dependable Centre Back and if Walker is going to be out for sometime another Striker .
Then again that game last night was probably decided in the 2nd minute at Wealdstone the other week as a Macca Wilson partnership may have worked

We're unfortunate to have our top two scorers McCallum and Walker out simultaneously, but unless the former is back for Saturday I fear another defeat. Our two clean sheets came against an abject Southend and really poor Barnet earlier in the season, realistically speaking we won't shut out Rowe and Tshimanga.SUSSEX DAGGER wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 4:31 pm Interesting comments Joel .

Walker's pace would have been useful Tuesday, the situation you mentioned earlier where Wilson got in behind but fluffed the opening I think Walker would've made something happen. McCallum's physicality would've given the crosses a focal point to aim for too.
However, we lost against Wrexham, Altrincham, Woking and Boreham Wood with both in the team so it's no guarantee. Our problem is that the defence are good technical footballers but lack a level of streetwiseness, and where it was being concealed by our ruthless at the other end of the pitch before, it's now seeming far more prominent.
We concede a ludicrous amount of goals inside the opening ten or so minutes, far more already this season than the entire last one. Top teams edge games 1-0 but we simply have to score two just go have a chance and though it was a formula that worked for a while, more often than not you'll come unstuck.
