We have been better when Boucard plays then without. You could highlight a number of players for them Solihull goals but have chosen Boucard saying he is at fault for three of them. If you think he is in the team to defend then you need your head testing. But everyone needs a scapegoat and he will always be it with many of our fans.
Boucard needs a defensive midfielder alongside him or he will be targeted by the boo boys who need to bring up last weeks game to get their point across. Let's talk about Doe's performance yesterday, shocking and embarrassing from the El Capitan. Had it been Boucard you would want a public hanging.
Refs in this league
I'm pretty sure that I've said that the past month or so he has reverted to type. Before that, he's been very good. Earlier in the season he was busting a gut tracking back - Wrexham he covered every blade of grass closing people down, tracking back etc.Diggerthedog wrote:We have been better when Boucard plays then without. If I need my head looking at for expecting him to block shots from the man in front of him or track his man into the box, I suspect that I might not be alone amongst our support or coaching staff.

The whole team has reverted to type the last two months but just Boucard gets the flack. Yes he has defensive duties but they are not the main reason for him being in the team unlike Doe.
If you think it is acceptable for any player to shirk their defensive responsibilities hen you need your head testing.Diggerthedog wrote:We have been better when Boucard plays then without. Doe got dug out against Solihull but both Widdowson and Boucaud were more at fault for more than one goal than he was.
Maybe Boucaud is getting mentioned now because other players are getting picked out despite being no worse then him.
It seems that you want Doe publically hung and don't like anyone distracting from that.

Where did I say it was acceptable? Your making assumptions to get your point across yet again. Was you at Braintree? Did you see Doe's performance?
I don't want Doe publicly hung but he is not the same player that left us. Widdowson was doing well at left back early in the season but not so good being played out of position.

You suggested that if I thought Boucaud was in the team to defend I needed my head examined. Yet you accept he has defensive duties. So perhaps I don't need my head examining. In my view his failure to carry out those defensive duties contributed to 3 of the 4 goals we shipped against Solihull. Yet it was Doe who people criticised. I'm not saying adobe is playing well at the moment, I don't think he is. I don't think the constant chopping and changing at the back is helping anyone. But I am saying that the goals conceded are not solely the fault of the back 4; they are getting very little cover from the midfield.

Don't disagree with any of the Alan all valid points.
Boucard is better than Raymond and arguably more skilful than doe. Doe has his off days too, who nicknamed him clumsy doe ? Me I think. But he's the most consistent and puts in far more decent shifts than boucard. Raymond just ain't good enough. He's nobodies first choice is he but doe and boucard pick themselves in our best 11.

Just seen the replay of Doe's Tackle and it is a second yellow and sending off. Replay courtesy of Braintree TV. Daggers player highlights will be up in the summer.
Your suggestion that he isn't in the team to defend (by reference to Alan needing his head tetsing if he thinks he is) suggests that you think it's acceptable for him to shirk defensive duties.Diggerthedog wrote:Where did I say it was acceptable? Doe keeps getting pulled out, but plenty of other players have been poor. As I've said Widdowson and Boucaud were more culpable for Soihull goals than Doe was, but Doe got slated, not those two.
Not sure when Widdowson was doing well at left back, he generally looked like the weak link to me.
No I wasn't at Braintree, but then I haven't commented on anything about that game either. Not sure why that's relevant.

Widdowson looked more than good enough earlier in the season when we had about 6 clean sheets at home when he was playing in the right position. He was brilliant at Eastleigh and York but you weren't there to witness it. You see half as season and are at know it all.
It's relevant as I was discussing Doe and his performance at Braintree. It was shockingly bad worse than anything Widdowson and Boucard have dished up this season.

I think It was a terrible display from Doe you don't have to agree. Who gave away the free kick and got booked for a silly push in the back on Midson? That free kick led to the corner they score from. Doe gets slack because he did well previously for us. Since Robson has been injured he has not stepped up.
I'm no more making an assumption than you were in your reply to Alan when you said he needed his head testing. Strange how you don't like have the same thing aimed back at you.Diggerthedog wrote:Like I said your making assumptions and yet are still trying above.Adrian wrote:Your suggestion that he isn't in the team to defend (by reference to Alan needing his head tetsing if he thinks he is) suggests that you think it's acceptable for him to shirk defensive duties.Diggerthedog wrote:Where did I say it was acceptable? I watched Widdowson plenty of times earlier in the season and generally came away thinking he was not very good. He was often caught out by the same ball over his head and did nothing going forward (cue you saying it isn't his job to attack). Teams tended to get more joy down whichever side he is playing.
You do like to pick out people not going to games don't uou? Does it make you feel big that you have nothing better to do than go to football?
