This is the football equivalent of faking an orgasm.

Wouldn't you rather take part in an actual atmosphere than this fake one that will never get off the ground.Believe me if crystal palace were bottom of the prem it would have been very quiet there as well.

I have been to Palace and it is not really as loud as it sounds on the TV. They place a mic right in front of the 3-400 that sing fro live TV games, admittedly its a better atmophere than most prem grounds but its not amazing as people claim

I have ti say that at Wembley on Saturday the Palace fans were fabulous throughout, even when they were behind. United never made a sound until they were winning, and the loudest noise they made was booing van Gaal when he went up for his medal.

I agree with all this; supporter groups do tend to work in creating atmosphere, and I reckon we have enough to form one. Give them a bit of the sieve, maybe a nice flag and a facebook group, it would really help

Back on to the original topic of discussion for this thread (I sidetracked a bit) apparently Sutton have sold over 900 season tickets. Makes our 250 look at bit weak. Sad figures

In what way would people congregating in the same area be making it a 'fake atmosphere'. Deliberate? yes. Fake? No.

But there season tickets are dirt cheap probably won't be anywhere near out budge once you dos the figures plus they must be mad wanting to watch football on a plastic pitch.

I believe those with plastic pitches have to give them up as they are not allowed at conference level and they have one year to do it.

To be fair, modern plastic pitches are pretty good. They certainly encourage passing football, and it means you can play on them pretty much 24x7 making the ground much more usable.

And yes, they are legal in the Conference, but not in the Football League (yet).

They're good for the clubs who have them, I do agree, mainly for revenue purposes.

I do think they currently give them an advantage in performance too - the bounce and run of the ball is still a bit different and difficult to get used to for away teams. Last time I played on a modern plastic pitch I also struggled a bit with footing - it seemed quite slippery.

Are they allowed in the conference? Maidstone have not been told as they have set aside £200,000 to change to grass.

Fairly sure it's Maidstone who are having to do a bit of ground renovation work anyway to get the required number of seats in. Think they'll be running at a slightly reduced capacity for the first half of the season at the very least.

Probably played a part, didn't have AG boots. Guess pros will have them supplied but us mere amateurs don't tend to have them unless regularly playing 5s at a modern venue.
