Take all your points , which kinda proves what I said the Well in Wich we dropped our bucket was dry this season and some of the signings have proved beyond bad.
That said I can't agree about the loan signings Dunne , Vassell , Pask or Mullaney being that poor in fact at times they looked pretty good. Ayo has been in and out through injury and although not the player he looked last season and I hope he can form a partnership with Pask if we can keep them.
Clever Dick and Nosworthy I can't for the life of me work out how they are any better then Ian Gayle .
Apparantly, managing Daggers....

I think you'll find I left out Dunne and Vassell. Dunne especially has been brilliant for us, I just hope we manage to keep him. Vassell also will score the goals we need providing he gets the right service. Mulraney no better than Hemmings really, but granted not a bad player at all. As for Pask, I find it ludicrous that the kid has not been given a chance since mid October, his first game he was awarded motm, but since has dropped down the pecking order, why, God knows. I just hope that whoever gets the job realises and quickly that we do actually have a decent side, the right set up and the right motivation, it's certainly possible, not easy, but certainly possible to avoid the drop. Here's hoping.SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:Take all your points , which kinda proves what I said the Well in Wich we dropped our bucket was dry this season and some of the signings have proved beyond bad.

I've never seen Pask play but Vassell, Dunne, Ayo and Mulraney have been among our top performers this season. Dunne works his socks off and really battles in the middle along with Labadie and the 2 of them instantly made us look 10 times better. Vassell might not always work hard but you can see he's a decent player, if a little bit temperamental. Ayo hasn't been as good as last season but still decent. Just goes to show how we should have tried harder to keep Doe. As for Mulraney, the Oxford gave summed him up for me. I was so frustrated with our wingers just looking afraid to take a player on. Mulraney came off the bench and went by a full back instantly and tried to take one on near enough every time he had the ball.
If Wayne had done as good with his summer signings he'd probably still have a job. It's like he should have a system of scouts in place that find half decent youngsters in the non leagues that he can give an opportunity and nurture onto a league player...

I agree with this.bearaab wrote:If Wayne had done as good with his summer signings he'd probably still have a job. It's like he should have a system of scouts in place that find half decent youngsters in the non leagues that he can give an opportunity and nurture onto a league player...
However we have a large group of uncompromising fans who after just 2 or 3 bad results would want the manager out.You can sort of understand why burnett stuck to journeymen cant you ?

but we finished 9th!
9th and 14th are incredible positions for Dagenham to finish in.Anyone who's anyone in football recognises that achievementmickeyblue wrote:utter garbage arnu

This season has been shite,he had to go.
John stills last 3 certainly 2 seasons were awful he should have been sacked not allowed to leave.I was right then and Im right aboput that now.I don't have a short memory and bringing him back wont be a great idea either long term.

Once again, I'll point out that no one has ever said that the positions weren't good enough.ARNU wrote:9th and 14th are incredible positions for Dagenham to finish in.Anyone who's anyone in football recognises that achievementmickeyblue wrote:utter garbage arnu

What has been said many times is that the performances that led to those finishes in many cases werent good enough and that there were many other things that showed that there were problems.
They're very different things.
Adrian...Im not saying you said they were bad finishes.Im not saying they were pretty to look at either. But others who themselves occasionally like to quote stats don't say it like you do.They make carpet statements like "he's the worst Daggers manager ever" and "hasn't got a clue".
What is for sure, the budget was an issue for Stilly as well and to get us where he did the football was not always pretty either.Remember the 2 seasons of crap Mickeyblue is talking about were actually Daggers 3rd and 4th best finishes in Lg 2 ever. The statement, 2 seasons of crap, can only apply to the method not the end result. And if that what he means I totally agree.

I am a tad curious. You used to argue on here about Daggers "lack of ambition" about avoiding relegation as a target at the start of a season. Considering your above statement, does that mean you have now changed your view? As I say I'm curious.ARNU wrote:9th and 14th are incredible positions for Dagenham to finish in.Anyone who's anyone in football recognises that achievementmickeyblue wrote:utter garbage arnu

Yet you seem to jump to the conslusion when someone criticises Burnett that they're referring to league positions and quote them in his defence. I think pretty much every criticism levelled at Burnett for his entire spell has been about something other than league position, But at the same time those that do criticise him aren't going to let the final positions paper over the cracks that were there through out his time as manager.ARNU wrote:Adrian...Im not saying you said they were bad finishes.Im not saying they were pretty to look at either. But others who themselves occasionally like to quote stats don't say it like you do.They make carpet statements like "he's the worst Daggers manager ever" and "hasn't got a clue".

For me, he was the worst manager we've had as it was his time in charge that destroyed my enthusiasm for watching Dagenham & Redbridge.
Well that's fair enough. Its been a chore for a lot of us.Burnett had his off field persona which didn't help him with me at all.Im not defending burnett too much I hope.Just whats been said hasn't been fair in a lot of cases.Adrian wrote:Yet you seem to jump to the conslusion when someone criticises Burnett that they're referring to league positions and quote them in his defence. Its been hard to watch I readily admit that. For a large part of last season I wanted him gone too.Im really sorry we're going upto Everton with this squad, they don't really deserve the day out to be honest .Id have far rather have seen Stills play off winners up there or even Burnetts team from the latter part of last year.Hopefully whoever comes in can inspire this lot to play to their full potential.

If the players were half as passionate about the team like Sussex, Arnu etc, we'd be pissing the league and not looking over our shouders as the Conference looms.

Think each and everyone of us is passionate Dave .dave seagull wrote:If the players were half as passionate about the team like Sussex, Arnu etc, we'd be pissing the league and not looking over our shouders as the Conference looms.
That passion needs to be expressed in a posative way now from each and everyone of us.
Starting from Boxing Day , they look beatable ,already done it once this season.
23 games to save our season ,just to give us some festive cheer and hope , my son tells me that no team bottom at Xmas has not been relegated in the past 5 seasons, can't be arsed to see if that is true and I will carry on with that thought even if it is a myth.
So come on everybody lets get there Boxing Day and let's get this show back on the road.
I think it's more performances than results for a lot of us. As long as the team is giving 100% and there appears to be a tactic that is being stuck to week in week out I think the majority would be happy. It hasn't happened enough with Wayne in charge unfortunately.ARNU wrote:I agree with this.bearaab wrote:If Wayne had done as good with his summer signings he'd probably still have a job. Well this theory has pretty much been dis-proven in the matter of just 8 days :D
