We also beat Orient,Salford,Harrogate & Fylde what has that got to do with anything.
In other news, Dave Tarpey has left Barnet, granted his time there was hampered with a horrific injury but get him firing and there are not many better goal scorers at this level! Could be worth a punt for back up for Wilkinson or even a strike partner for him with Balanta just behind, all without having to break the bank!
Who would you like to see at Dagenham next season?
Built the team? He took over as manager in November and inherited a silly money squad.EssexDagger! wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 12:32 pmRather than take the whole Eastleigh side, it would be easier & cheaper l to take the one man who built the team & the way they play.... = Ben StrevensAVincelotFlyingLeap wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 10:45 pm I’d take literally all of that Eastleigh team. They play three at the back as well. Lovely stuff.

I wouldn’t call 7 loanee’s and 4 free transfers as a silly money squad...
But even if silly money was such a big factor then have to ask questions why didn’t Barnet,Chesterfield, Bromley or even ourselves fare better? In that case then I assume the likes of Onariase,Clarke,Loft, Balanta,Wilkinson were all happy to sign for peanuts

Eastleigh have a silly wage bill. Have had for years. It’s why they’ve got a squad that includes McCallum, Yeates, Hollands, Constable, Zebrowski and Johnson, all good players many of the “lesser” players have lots of league experience: Williamson, Wynter, Boyce have over 350 games in football league between them. A player signing for free doesn’t mean a lot at this level: if they’re out of contract it’s a contest to pay them the most.EssexDagger! wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 11:09 pm I wouldn’t call 7 loanee’s and 4 free transfers as a silly money squad...

As for us, as the season went on, we signed some players on a decent wage, but the bulk of our squad this year were cheap and (not so) cheerful and so we had no depth and had areas where we lacked quality.

From Taylors quotes not overly sure what to expect??
I would not expect us to challenge for promotion with the current squad without at least 3 or 4 top additions in line with Balanta and Wilko
“I know we have seven players under contract and I'm going to be speaking to all of the players this week to discuss where we go from here and if they think this is the right place for them and whether we can afford them,” he added.
“I'm sure we'll be clearer by the end of next week with regards to what we're doing, but I'm sure there will be slots that we have to fill over the summer.”

Dean Bowditch released from Northampton might be worth a look at, localish lad and at 32 might still have something to offer up with Wilko & Balanta!

Wondering when we will produce our retained list.
A lot of clubs at our level have released a list already. Wonder when we will release ours, given Peter Freund's statement about promotion, you would assume we are already in talks with a number of players.

Nicky Bailey (defensive midfielder) has been released by Sutton Utd’s new manager earlier this week... okay his 34 now but could be a good addition to the squad that brings a wealth of experience in what is going to be a difficult season next year with a good 10-12 teams all competing for 2 promotions spots!
Been there, done it and got the t-shirt with almost 150 games in the championship under his belt (Middlesbrough & Millwall) ....from what I remember with our games against Sutton he can a right s**th-house to play against top... will teach our young lads a thing or two I’m sure.
