another terrible away defeat.
Any thoughts from anyone who was at the game?

We looked like a pub team. Absolutely terrible performance.
Bollocks to the cup run, he should be sacked tonight after that dross.
Absolute worst ways we should be looking at a draw against teams like them, not folding like a pack of cards.
Disgraceful.

Watched on tv, absolute garbage.
Probably the worst stadium in the league
completely open to the elements
however no excuse for that performance
against a bang average side.
2 down and still in with a shout we
bring on Ling for Woodhouse at left back.
Really disappointed

Just a horrible horrible day. Weather and pitch were awful, yes, but we just didn’t look up to the match at all. Strevs’ tactics, if you can call constantly hoofing it to Phipps tactics, just didn’t work. What has Stephenson got to do for a start? And our substitutions were crap too. What use did bringing Ling on do? Just absolutely nothing positive to say about the club right now, would happily see the season end tomorrow and save some money.

The club is summed up in a week. An absolute shambles. I think the new owners have bitten off more than they can chew. Manager way out of his depth it’s over we will go down before we go up under the current regime.
Will be my last season, rudderless.

That was awful. A typical away performance no desire no fight sooooo passive. What’s happened this week definitely played a part why are players going to do their bollocks for this club when they will be treated like shit for doing so. James King is a disgrace and a disgusting human being get him out of this club asap

Things are a mess on and off the pitch. That was a disgrace today. It could've been six or seven. They were cutting us to pieces through the middle and around the sides almost every time they went forward at one point. Yet it took being two down by half time for us to change the system which made us so porous.

What the hell was that today? Pathetic performance. Weak management and what did Strevens think the crowd would say at the end? Why was Hill arguing with the fans after the most abject crap I’ve seen for years. The rumours around the club are really not good either. The new owners need to tell us the truth.

Broom Broom Broom - Let me hear you say Wayo - Wayo!
I remember when we were a really good side a few years ago and turned up for a game and looked useless and got beat. A few days later it became apparent Hopkin was leaving and people were unsure of their wages. Today was a bit like that - shambolic, low effort, no morale.
This club is on its knees quite frankly. It doesn't matter who owns it, it doesn't matter who the manager is, nothing ever changes. I don't know why, but we're a farce and have been for years.
Our squad, on paper, is very good. Not top 3 maybe, but very good. We lack in certain areas, but nobody can tell me that a side with Justham, PK, Easty, Dion, Rees, Hill, Oscar, Junior isn't good enough to get playoffs. Yes we've had injuries but even today, we had Crichlow from L1 in the mix instead. The performances away from home especially are unacceptable. It's pathetic. And the total lack of character is proven by their ability to win at Crewe and Wimbledon. Do the basics first.

Pretty much agree with all of this. Our performances are pathetic, are squad is pretty damn good on the whole. I do think it is terribly imbalanced though, given we started today with 4 centre backs on the pitch.Mark wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 11:50 pm I remember when we were a really good side a few years ago and turned up for a game and looked useless and got beat. As for why the club is constantly on its knees, I’d challenge the club to make one change and see if that makes a difference. Because you’re right it is constant, and he has been there overseeing it all.
It just seems we keep going down the same ole path, normally and nothing to do with Christmas so close would not have dreamt of missing a visit to that side of London but getting to the stage if us the fans can really put the effort in up and down the breathe of the Country why can't they at least hit the road jack and try their best, game in and out? Thats all we ask for! Were so inconsistent its been our enemy for years, Stilly did at least get that right early days. Its in our DNA never to throw the towel in and I like many would not go down that road but we just always seem to hit a damned brick wall? Hopes pre season then we fail to achieve! Its a right pain and testing us fans to the extreme!

I don’t get to many games these days due to playing sport again on Saturdays (and not posted on here for ages), but used to go home and away every week, and have to say I couldn’t believe how bad that was yesterday.
I hadn’t been at all for a few weeks, and to be honest the last games I went to I thought we looked ok, but yesterday was abysmal, one of the worst ever Dagenham performances I have witnessed.
No idea what was behind it, but a mate who came with me who only goes now and then for a day out, said to me halfway through the second half “something is not right out there”. He had no ideas of the rumours about Elliot or anything else, but could clearly see there is something going on.
Have to say, the whole day had the feel of an FA Vase game lower down the pyramid. Awful pitch, a ground like a throwback to non-league days of yesteryear and two woeful teams.
Anyway, was nice to see a few old faces before Christmas and catch up with people. But not many positives aside from that.
