Re: New signings
I was hoping for some news on possible signings by now but suppose it won't be too long.

That's a very valid pointAuntie Merge wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 10:15 pm I’m not sad to see any departures because I hope it means there are better players coming in.

Re: Retained List
To get Joe Haigh on a new deal would be a huge signing.

Re: Players Leaving
Agree with that, Lee Allinson probably want his own players in.cmc1987 wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 2:44 pm Did like Reggie Young, lent towards him being retained as a squad/rotational player.
Hopefully its a sign that retained list has been quite ruthless. I would expect a large turnover of players again this summer.

Shame about Reggie Young because I thought he was a decent player.

Re: Congrats to Hornchurch on Promotion
Always been at least one of two divisions below us and with an awful ground so would much prefer if they had stayed in our division next season as a local fixture.

Re: Welcome Lee Allinson
A brilliant interview with Lee, said all the right things and look forward to seeing who he brings into the club over the few weeks.

Re: Welcome Lee Allinson
Fickle fan, I appreciate, but this decision alone has convinced me to get on board the Season Ticket train that I got off of last season having moved out of London a few years back.
Excited for the summer, however it ends up going over the next few months... Remember distinctly the feeling coming ...

Re: Welcome Lee Allinson
With the season just finished and lots of clubs not yet released their retained lists our new manager has plenty of time to assess who he would like to sign. Having spent the last 18 months in this division he knows what's needed to win this division.

Re: Welcome Lee Allinson
Fantastic news, he has done an amazing job in getting Hemel into the playoffs, knows the league well and with the backing of our board we can now look at moving the club forward.

Re: Managerial candidates
Maidstone seem to think Elokobi put his name forward - whether he’s considered in the finals shortlist who knows - you would think we would at the very least speak to him
Maidstone finished just outside of the playoffs with Elokobi .and obviously he knows this league so sounds promising.
My ...

Re: Managerial candidates
Billericay v Brentwood in the Isthmian play off final, we'll be playing the winner next season. Both their managers could be a good fit for us.
Billericay manager is Danny Scopes who has been mentioned on here in the past.
Brentwood manager is Keith Rowland ex West Ham player.
I think we could ...

Re: Managerial candidates
On the Southend forum a number of them want him sacked because he is very negative in his tactics and as we have recently got rid of someone similar he doesn’t sound a great idea. He has only got one way of playing apparently.

Re: John Still
He was very well paid by all of the clubs he managed, reported salary at Luton was over £100k plus a promotion bonus of the same value, jumped ship from us when the gravy boat of money run dry despite him claiming he loves the club.
Facts are Southend didn’t see any value in paying him handsomely ...
