It was good to remember 25 years ago at Charlton, even if does make some of us feel somewhat aged.
As DI Mike said, 10 years of upwardness followed, sadly, by 15 of downwardness.
I believe tomorrow marks 6 months since new owners were trumpeted. Since then nothing, apart from the 'hostage' video (as a friend called it) and the occasional postings on here and Daggers Friends from people who appear to know something but never the whole story.
So, what is going on? Did/do the Qataris exist?
As a supporter through many decades, I find the situation, in particular the infrequent, opaque messages from the club, intolerable.
Can we not start the new year with more open communications from the club?

I can’t believe, given the comments in other threads, this post had no responses, so i have amended the thread title from ‘Anniversaries’ to ‘Club Updates/Anniversaries’.

As others have been commenting elsewhere all fans are being taken for mugs, particularly the mugs like me that have full membership so have paid for a season ticket and a full membership fee.

The full members still have a minority shareholding which has been reduced every single time one of the owners has invested money, as it appears to protect the full members share allocation, we’d have needed to match the funds - whoever thought that was a good idea? Our shareholding should have been protected.

Nevertheless, the full members are still shareholders and as shareholders we know just as much as anyone else; we have received no communication or update, aside from the ‘hostage video’. Personally, i thought the ‘hostage video’ should have been sent to the full members first before going on general release. But that shows you how much or little anyone who supports this club is valued, regardless of the money that is paid.

I wonder how many sponsors feel the same and still feel committed to the club in its current form and leadership?

On Tuesday 20th we play a home game on my birthday for the first time since 2009. Usually i would be so excited that a game on my birthday goes ahead. Yet I won’t be there,

I haven’t been to games since 28th September 2025. This was meant to be my 43rd season of watching us yet currently I prefer to spend my time and money where I feel i am not being abused.

But in answer to your question, expecting answers from the club or any clarity from the management, board, owners (past, current or future) - you might as well whistle in the wind as the team heads for what is looking like a double relegation.

No idea who or what will own us or when anything will happen. No leadership off the pitch; no leadership on the pitch. I feel the days of the club as we once knew it are numbered.

I have been a supporter of the club for more than 60years and like you and many others feel very upset, angry, disappointed and just totally amazed that we get told something six months ago about proposed new owners and then absolutely nothing. This is no way to treat the loyal fans of this club.
I’m hoping something positive is happening behind the scenes regarding new owners but don’t expect the club to tell us anything until it is totally complete this time.
I’m also hoping new owners look carefully over the period since Club Underdog took us over in particular and learn from the many mistakes they have made so they are not repeated in future, including lack of communication.

The best days of the club are but a distant memory, the thought of there being new owners are just fantasy, we are sinking faster than the Titanic.. we are rudderless in the boardroom as well as the dressing room, nothing but a complete clear out of the club is going to change anything, attendance dropping .. morale around the club dropping, fans frustration growing.. those in charge should take a good long look at themselves and realise that their days are numbered and do the right thing!

Im going to predict something else as well, yet another merger with a club that is a lot closer to home than previous clubs merged with!
(That comment should get this thread going)

If you’re hinting we should merge with Hornchurch, I’ll get my placards out…
On second thoughts this club has killed any passion I had for it… let it go ahead.

Just playing devils advocate, less chance of west spam staying up than a merger or new owners :)
