What are the thoughts on today’s match, our first at this level for over 25 years (stand to be corrected)?
Personally after a somewhat disastrous pre season I can’t see us achieving much more than mid table, hopefully I’m wrong but friendly results haven’t filled me with any confidence.

I think with all the publicity over us signing Andy Carroll and having new owners I think all the pressure is on us to get a positive result. On this basis we are now considered a big team in this division so just hoping that despite Carroll not being available we can start with a win.

The thing we need today is a statement win, a performance that says to the opposition unlike the second half of last season under Young you haven’t just got to just put your boots on to win, a performance that says “hey your not going to ****** us over on our own turf” a performance that shows us the fans that we can have hope this season and not a winter of lacklustre football that says we don’t give a toss. And those few supporters who stood by the team coach after the Solihull game clapping Young and saying “well done you gave it a go we love you can you sign my arse” can all f#k off as well, you were so far up his ar$e you could see Hessenthalers shoes, embarrassing the lot of you!
Rant over :banghead:

Half time 1-0 down and dunno where we're getting a goal from.

Captain's crocked, Carroll crocked, were pretty awful so far.

Bring back Lewis!

So it turned out just as I had feared, uncompetitive, outfought, outplayed, second to almost every ball (when we competed for it) and lost to a very average team. We could have played until 10 tonight and not scored!
Whatever the new owners have planned please let them not be put off of the purchase after this performance, hopefully they was on holiday and missed it!

The only bright spot this afternoon was Twerk and Jerk, lovely bit of scoff.

Yeah that was rubbish. Very little attacking threat. Midfield was appalling. Panter and Broad looked hugely suspect on left side of our defence.

Probably 3 or 4 starters missing today, then Dieng. But we'll never be able to field the first team and you need depth, which we don't have. N'Guessan is absolutely useless as one such example.

Not going to write us off just yet tho. Plenty of football to be played and bedding in to be done.

Lost for words how pathetic that was.

If that's the best that this group can do, then Bradbury needs about 15 new players.

Total embarrasment.

Who recruited this lot ?

We have a goalscorer in Hemmings but most of his time he spent in his own half but would have been more effective supporting Wilson up front. With Dieng going off we badly needed someone in midfield that had some physicality and determination in getting the ball back from the opposition which it midfield was then totally lacking.
We spent so much time pumping long balls up to Wilson who was surrounded by big defenders and didn't stand any chance of winning the ball.
With Dieng out with a hamstring injury along with Carroll, Lawless and Marsh our immediate prospects do not look that promising.

Nothing from yesterday really gave us any new information to determine what sort of season we will have. N’Guessan is still rubbish and showing us why we can’t turf him elsewhere, can we not just fire him for gross incompetence? And the team still needs to do a lot of gelling to get things right.

As for Dieng, you just have to laugh. Why does this always happen to us? At least Bradbury isn’t shy of signing players, I’d get another two midfielders in now, if Dieng and Marsh are ever back fit we can just view it as a bonus. But let’s not hang around waiting for it to happen one day.

I agree we need reinforcements in midfield because there was an obvious weakness there yesterday, if we don’t fill the void you can see us falling behind in the league.
