Havant 0-1 Daggers
Hemmings scores from a penalty. But it’s very lacklustre so far I suspect this will be our only goal of the game.

Hemmings just missed an absolute sitter.

Havant very quickly replied 2-2

With at least six or seven players missing obviously a weakened team has been put out. Hopefully with only two weeks till the season starts a lot of these players will be back then.

Listening to Lee’s post match analysis it seems that he’s realising that even before the season starts we are struggling with injuries, same old same old as previous seasons, when are we going to recruit some young hungry fit players who want to fight for the badge?

I was there today and not impressed at all. If we are to start the season with a depleted squad then we are going to fall behind on all important early points. Same situation as previous seasons.

Today we were missing
Carroll (hamstring, 4-6 weeks)
Lawless (groin, presumably a couple of weeks minimum, and he's had groin issues before)
Maghoma (struggling to be ready for start of season)
Scott (unknown)
Wilson (broken wrist, awaiting a cast)
Lusala (a week away)
Then Marsh went off injured with pain around his previous injury.
Is anyone really surprised? Most of the above have less than good injury records. We all knew there were too many risks being taken.
On top of that PK doesn't want to be here and has barely played, Khaleel still can't get any starts which probably shows what the manager thinks of him, and we're stuck with the likes of Rendall and N'Guessan who are basically useless.
I know the takeover has been pending most of the summer but I really think we've made another mess of this. I'd be amazed if we can start well and we'll probably still be chopping and changing players several weeks in.
We still need 4-5 to leave and free up wages for better options, who then need time to bed in. And we're likely going to miss targets in the meantime.

Fully appreciate the decision makers at the club are more experienced than I am, but baffled by the decision to let Vigrass go within our division on loan when the squad is so thin currently, including the (presumably) first-choice right wing back option in Lusala.
Huge work still to do and to comment on the 'players with injury histories before coming to us are now so injured' feels like wasting time

I went yesterday and it was very poor, not even sure what the game plan is at present, you need a target man at this level so time to go and get one because Carroll will be missing half the season. The fact we’ve played two sides from the level below and not won either speaks volumes of where we are. A massive overhaul of a squad takes time but replacing numbers with injury prone ones is a disaster.
One thing is for sure the new manager won’t take any nonsense from any player that does not want to give 100% clearly why Kalambayi and Kahleel are left out, a disciplined side should do well and apparently we have 3-4 more signings to come to come in but not an ideal time now.
Torquay and Ebbsfleet are way ahead of us and I don’t see us finishing above either of them so play offs for us.

I haven’t watched any of the games, but I still believe there is an attitude problem in the team. As said, PK and Khaleel are both perfectly fit but are barely playing. If they want out, just do it and get us some fighters in. Unfortunately we have 2 weeks until the first game and it’s looking quite clear that the Ebbsfleet game will be a loss. Even if we get some bodies through the door, it’s taking a while for everything to gel. Just got to make sure that when it does click, we will be very hard to breakdown.

I was initially surprised he was letting Vigrass go out on loan but now seems new additions coming into the club that he thinks are better.

No issues with that at all... Not surprised that those performing poorly this pre season are largely the guys we had last season rather than the new recruits.
New backup keeper has been shaky, thus far, but nobody I've seen come in under the manager (outside of injury concerns) looks like a player who won't make us better... Positive about any future recruitment but we need them in yesterday, so really need to get a move on.
Still maintain that a starting XI at Ebbsfleet with Rendall in the back 3/4 will be a disaster

On a separate note, any idea who was on Trial again yesterday?
