Not sure what the point of giving Gayle a new contract was. He's been around long enough that we either think he's good enough to have around the squad full time, or we don't in which case we let him go somewhere else.

Can only imagine with Gayle that someone inside knew about Doe and thought he may be able to cut it in this league. Certainly hadn't done enough when he's played to suggest he the answer to any defensive question

It's almost like we don't want to let him go just incase he does go on to do well and then we regret it. Like Ricardo Santos at Peterborough.

I hope the club doesn't have the attitude of many people on here about selling Jones for around 200K.
He's 17, and has looked by far our best player in the past two games. Now, let's get a bidding war between these clubs interested, and get upwards of 800K for him. As mentioned before, Matt Grimes went from Exeter to Swansea for just under 2 million last season in January, after his first professional season. So who's to say Jodi's value couldn't rise to that?
As for suggestions Jodi is one footed, he went onto his right foot a couple of times at Pompey and put half decent crosses in.

We'll only get a bidding war going to £800k is there are clubs willing to pay that much. The key thing that many seem to be missing is that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Comparisons to different players where the clubs involved are in very different situations are largely pointless. For example, Matt Grimes is an U20 international and played over 50 games for Exeter. We're also in a position where we can't hang around and try to drive the price up if it means we could end up getting nothing.
Last season Morecambe turned down an offer for a player who then missed the whole season injured.

800k for a Player dropped from a team that is hardly setting the division alight, who has got it wrong then ?
