If there's one man who needs to stay at the helm its Thommo, he knows this club inside out, yes, he's had to make some hard and controversial decisions and of course he makes the odd mistake but he's got vast experience going well back and if someone new is brought in, yes it may work albeit a bit of a gamble but would we have enough time to put it to the test?, it would have to be somebody who knows the foundations of this club very well and unfortunately there's not too many of those about with good management brain, he's a dagger through and through.

I don't agree with the club has no ambition posters or that it is now Thommo who people are picking on.
Thommo was at the helm when we went to Wembley and got promoted. I think his quote has been taken literally. Don't we all want a minimum of 22nd every season?

If we avoid relegation albeit if it means finishing 22nd then bring it on. The Acedemy will then be safe, lots of other employees jobs will be safe and we will live to fight another season in the Football League.

My view is that anything after that is a bonus. If we stay in League Two then we are always going to be like the Accringtons of the football world.
The club have next to no income or resources to compete otherwise, I know that, you all know that and Thommo knows it.
I am not a great lover of Thommo as a person but I am confident that he is great at his job and keeps this club going.
As for Burnett, I think the step up has been too much for him, would prefer if he worked as a coach with someone in a roll similar to a Director of Football overseeing him.
Wayne is not coping as a manager and I think he should go sooner rather than later as Manager of this football club.

All this budget talk is nonsense, we have a very decent budget and as I said in a previous post the same Turnover as Brentford when we were both promoted a few seasons back, look were both clubs are now.

I don't think his interview targets the right areas really but I can understand why he has said what he has. He's fighting for his job and in all honesty we did overachieve in terms of position last season. Had Murphy/Hines been fit all season, 9th would have been realistic but without them for 3 months, 9th was a false position really due to how tight it was. He's not silly, he knew he was on the verge of the sack today and he's using the win as an opportunity to send a message to the board about what he's done in the past. I like what he said at the beginning about the players haven't done anything different aside from making individual errors etc. It's a clever thing to say as it puts the message in your mind that he is doing the right things but individual errors are costing us. However, I think the goal scoring aspect he speaks of is a load of rubbish. We haven't struggled for goals this season (bar the last 2-3 games before today). Cureton has been very good, the midfielders have chipped in here and there whilst we have far better striking options than last year. We don't have anything currently on par with Hines/Medy but if you weighed up this season and last in terms of attacking prowess, I'd say it's pretty even. The area we're weaker in is defensively although hopefully this new 3-5-2 approach adds a bit of stability with the extra CB.

The comments were aimed at the people who employ him. If we had lost today, he'd have been sacked.

Listen to the full interview, it was aimed at the minority that have given him stick. Deserved stick for our dreadful 12 months of home form regardless of the constraints and injuries bollocks he spouts.

Fair enough, listening to the full interview and whilst I still feel partially it's aimed at the board, there's obviously a message there aimed at the boo boys.

I think this emotion is coming out because he knows how close he's come to the sack. He's not out of the woods yet mind either.

Far from out the wood, reality is we have a tough game next week which in reality not expecting anything, the tranmere game is another big one. I feel a tad sorry for the bloke because he must be stressed.
