I think you will find it depends on your card acquirer.

There is most definitely a cost to the club of having the facility to take card transactions. While £1.50 is pretty hefty, it's not that unusual in the world of ticketing for sports and music etc.

If you don't like it, pay by cheque or cash.

Nope, just that its a fact. Go buy a ticket to an event at the O2. They won't offer you a cheque or cash alternative either.

But we are not the O2, where most things are over subscribed. And we are definitely not Ticketmaster. We're the Daggers who want to encourage people to come to our happy family club.

I sent them a good old fashioned cheque with my 2 applications.No extra charge.Id have thought thatd be the most tiresome way for them to process.

Me too Arnu. I'm treasurer of an organisation and cheques are a huge pain in the arse.

credit card was. dearer 2.50 I think.
charges to debit cards are not common at all.

Got an email from Steve Thompson's email and Charlie in the club shop apologising saying it should only be one charge. Small win, but it's the principle- still unable to figure out why there's a charge at all but I'll think I'll move on with my life now...

At least they replied and as you say a small win and the return is nearly the cost of a pint of beer :D
