It seems barring some sort of miracle Lee Bradbury's days here as the Manager seem numbered.
If the new owners have a replacement in mind, would it then be best to change things before the season is over so that person then has plenty of time to look at the current squad and assess what is needed for next season?
The other scenario of course, is that they haven't got an oven ready replacement which would take a period of time to sort out.
I think personally that changes need to be made as soon as possible, even having a temporary manager in post till the end of the season whilst they are looking at applications for the position of manager.
New Manager?
Our season is over. Step one is to make sure it is clear who the decision makers are at the club. If that's Anwar, KSI and Grabowski then fine. If there's more to come it needs sorting quickly.
Once that is done, we need to sack the manager and look for a replacement. Ideally we would get someone sorted long before player contracts expire, so they've got time to assess who to attempt to keep.
I don't think Bradbury has done an absolutely terrible job, but I don't think he's the right man. To be fair to him, he's eventually got us to a very solid defensive base after a very bad start. But his outlook is too defensive overall. I don't want another Daryl who goes all-out attack and signs striker after striker, but a bit more forward thinking would be nice. At this level we should have the pull to get good players and make the opposition worry about us.

It would be great if we got rid of Bradbury now. But unless he’s on a 2 year deal, which I doubt he is, the owners aren’t going to payout for an extended preseason. I don’t blame them either.
Instead I’d rather we start working on a replacement behind the scenes now. Then the day after the season ends it can be announced that Bradbury has left and the new guy is in. Plenty of time to then start working on sorting through the squad, not that I’m really bothered about many of them anyway.
For the record, decision making will be split across JG, Carroll, Uddin, KSI and Fernandes when he is eventually announced. But Uddin no doubt is the main decision maker/influence right now.

Mark you are correct on Bradbury setting up his team in a far too defensive mode particularly away from home to just not lose a game. We have played 18 games away scoring 20 goals but 9 of those were scored in just two games against Tooton and Chelmsford.
If it was working I wouldn't mind so much but we have only won 5 games away which clearly is not good enough.

I'm totally done with this manager now and the shambles on the pitch. Yes we had the ball but we are completely clueless with what to do with it. Once again, it's worth pointing out that these are 'professionals' playing a team of Semi Pros who are going down and yet they played with more energy, desire and ideas than we did. I would love to see the lot of them gone in the summer. I seriously doubt that this is what KSI bought in to. Hopefully some better times ahead but we won't achieve that with this current mob.

Whoever is selected in becoming the new manager will probably not be everyone's choice as so many names have been mentioned on different platforms already.
Amongst them is Lee Allinson currently the Hemel Hempstead manager who I hope is under consideration.
He is around 40 years old and taken his part time team up to third in the table having won their last six league games. Their home crowds average only around 600.
He is also assisted in his team by Ian Allinson his dad who is the ex Arsenal and Colchester player of many years ago.
On paper his achievement in getting a so called unfancied team to where they are is very impressive but will have to wait and see where we go from here.

I hope if there is some money around, we might be thinking big!
Unfortunately there is no guarantee whoever you get. I thought a few years ago getting the ex England manager Peter Taylor would be success but that didn't work out too well and after us he went on a downward spiral being sacked wherever he went.Auntie Merge wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 10:39 am I hope if there is some money around, we might be thinking big!

I think you'll find he was sacked wherever he went before he joined us too!len wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 11:01 amUnfortunately there is no guarantee whoever you get. My guess it will be someone well known, possibly one of AC's mates from West Ham. I did wonder if it might be AC with help from someone experienced upstairs. No prizes for guessing who that might be....
I assume the restructuring will happen very soon after 31 March when Mr Thompson leaves the board?

Thinking of "old un's" it won't be Roy Hodgson, as he has just returned to one of his former clubs.hockley dagger wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 1:48 pm I did wonder if it might be AC with help from someone experienced upstairs. No prizes for guessing who that might be....

For me, if the club is ambitious, then the best team to manage this club going forward are the Cowley brothers. Proven track tecord at this level, got Lincoln City back into the league and have done well in the EFL since.
They would be my choice. A cheeky approach wouldn't hurt.
