I've just run a full lap of my 2 floor shop in celebration to my wife and customers confusion 😂

This is probably the most important thing to happen to the club since we narrowly avoided going out of business altogether. Think we could all say so many different things about the situation, but I’ll just say it’s long overdue. Really, really, really long overdue. So a huge credit goes to Anwar & Grabowski for making this change immediately.

I just hope this somehow doesn’t turn into a case of the devil you know… Surely it can’t, but you never know with this bloody club.

This is welcome news, whilst I appreciate the time and effort that ST has given to the club , a full change at the top is required. We can now start to look forward to the new era of our club.

Like others have said, think it’s best for everyone to start the new era with a clean slate and for Steve to move aside.

However, I also think credit should be given for the service he has given the club and for what he helped to achieve for a lot of the time he has been at the club.

The era between 2000 and 2011 was undeniably a brilliant one for everyone at the club and Steve played a huge role in that. The days out following the side all over the country in those times were brilliant and I will always have fond memories of them and would like to thank Steve and others who made that era happen.

As others have already said, Steve Thompson has been involved in some of the most critical decisions that have shaped the club through the decades, but there comes a time when for the good of the club as well as his own wellbeing that he should step aside, I wish him the very best for the future.
As for whoever takes over his role as managing director I really hope he is prepared to take the bull by the horns and get rid of that useless manager Bradbury.

A wise decision for the future of the club and I hope for him personally. ST has made a very significant contribution to Dagenham & Redbridge FC over many years including the most successful period in the club’s history. I wish him well for the future and I am pleased that he will continue to be involved in the club in an honorary position.

I understand the general consensus is that having Steve Thompson step down is going to be good for the club. I will trust the knowledgeable fans on this board.

I am glad some of the comments are wishing the best for Thompson, even as they are glad to see him leave the club.

I clearly do not have the history with this club that some of you do that go back decades. I have been following the club for about 5 years. But I will say this about Steve Thompson.

He went out of his way to make me feel a part of the Daggers family when I visited the club for the first time in August. He put a small bit with a picture of me in the program and such. That was a class act in my book to spend that much time on a fan that lives thousands of miles away and may get to visit every other year or so. I know League clubs would likely not do something like that but I am not sure if clubs at our level would do this either.

Come On Your Daggers!
I am so tired of the heat and humidity of the summers in the southeastern USA.

Nobody can say that he didn't put his heart and soul in to our club and he deserves some respect.

The reality, however, is that things got much worse at the club since he was given full reign and his legacy isn't great. He upset a lot of the hardcore fans and members of the club who were the beating heart and soul and drove most of them away over the years with his dictatorial approach.

We are currently in the worst position in our relatively short history and the club has become toxic. I sincerely hope that last Saturday versus AFC Totton will be remembered as the day that we hit rock bottom and that under the new owners the only way is up. Giving Steve an honorary position in the club is a right and fitting thing to do but I am relieved that his period of leadership is over and we can look forward to a more dynamic future.

at last... that cancer has gone.
he has alienated so many people, it's untrue.
how one man can cause so much resentment to so many, is an achievement on its own
