Will there be any audio commentary today?
I am going to be visiting Canterbury but wanted to check in as much as possible.

I am so tired of the heat and humidity of the summers in the southeastern USA.

Hit the crossbar. Other than that awful.
It’s going to be a long long season

I am too cheap to pay for an international data plan and I was visiting in-laws during match time so I did not get a chance to tune in. Sounds like I did not miss anything.len wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 12:58 pm Good news as our official site has said commentary is on our own mixer channel from 255pm.
I guess we will get to see our first goal of the season at my first game in person on Tuesday. (I refuse to believe we can go three fixtures at the start of the season and go goalless.)

Listened to the commentary and game could of gone either way. The one positive was that we managed to keep a clean sheet and our man of the match was PK who has not been seen for a few weeks. Also it seems fairly clear that without Andy Carroll up front we are missing a goalscoring centre forward.

We’re not missing a decent striker, we have the best player at this level last season starting games for us, the main problem is the midfield, same as last season.
Pathetic start from all involved, money well saved on the season ticket.

To be fair, one chance each fell to our front three today and they all missed. Hemmings perhaps unlucky to hit the bar but didn't need to be that precise, Wilson made a total hash overrunning a 1v1, and Haigh put his straight at the keeper.
Haigh was often the key in terms of getting in good positions but his end product was disappointing today.
Some positives tho, defence much better with PK in it, Harrack had a good game. Unfortunately we didn't really have anything to change it off the bench, Khaleel was really disappointing as was Scott.

We may have Hemmings but he’s not a centre forward he is either playing wide or coming very deep to pick the ball up. With Andy Carroll missing at the moment and at times likely to miss other games another goalscoring forward would be a huge asset.Diggerthedog wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 8:20 pm We’re not missing a decent striker, we have the best player at this level last season starting games for us, the main problem is the midfield, same as last season.

If you look at the number of goals we have scored in pre season and league games can we wait till players come back from injury or do we add to the squad that is the big question?

We need to sign at least 4 top players to have any chance this season.
When we lose again at home Tuesday night will it be then ok to call for Bradbury the clown to go?
Also, does anyone truly believe Carrol will play more than 5 games all season?
That's just a distraction.

Can’t criticise the club or call for him to be sacked until we’re mathematically relegated.ARNU wrote: Sun Aug 17, 2025 10:45 am When we lose again at home Tuesday night will it be then ok to call for Bradbury the clown to go?

I’d guess he’ll play between 5-10

No disrespect to Salisbury, a lovely, welcoming club in intimate surroundings, but it felt like pre-season. This new normal will take some acclimatising to.
We have to be winning games like that, against part-time mid table opposition, but didn't deserve to. It was a disappointing performance. Not impressed by Bradbury saying otherwise. With how bullish he was upon taking the job, about our ambitions, you have to be setting better standards than that for me. We offered precious little besides that mini spell around the half-hour mark.

How many teams are part-time and how many are professional ? Is there anywhere we can look this up ?DaggerJoel11 wrote: Sun Aug 17, 2025 5:42 pm No disrespect to Salisbury, a lovely, welcoming club in intimate surroundings, but it felt like pre-season.
