Are you seriously suggesting that we are living and working within our means at the moment? I'm pretty certain that the squad of players we have, plus transfer fees etc are not being paid for by gate receipts, bar takings, sponsorship and function room hires alone!!

Just compare their attendances with ours, so we think we need to be realistic about things not have a knee jerk reaction because we have been beaten against a good team. We all want our team to be competitive but we cannot just throw money at this like a number of teams in this division, we have to be sensible and work within our means as we want our club to have a long term future.
What’s Halifax’s budget or Boreham Wood? Having a decent manager helps regardless of budget, we have enough quality in top areas to get us points but in these tight tough games we run out of ideas. How many cleans sheets we had compare to our opposition. Nothing not sensible being said, go out and get some decent defenders it’s not difficult many teams manage it. Look at our centre backs and then look at our opponents centre backs, we’re weak no muscle about any of them.

You can lose a maximum of about 12-13 games to ensure a play of spot, we can only afford to lose 3-4 more in 20 games left and given our defence that is very unlikely to happen. Another wasted season but at least the manager got is undeserved contract extension due to a good few months, knee jerk from the board as usual.

Yes within the owners budget to finance the club and not compared to a lot of far bigger clubs in our league that seem to be throwing vast amount of cash that is quite often not sustainable.

Far to nice as a club from top to bottom, accept mediocrity and some people on here accept it. Pathetic

The game was over in 5 minutes and that very good Stockport team beat us two nil with goals we absolutely gifted them.

Whatever the game plan was well it was out the window in 5 minutes. Stockport looked a good team but at 2-0 the job was done and they did not have to do anything to get it. They could not have believed their luck and we may have well seen a diffeent game if we had got out of that first 5 minutes

What on earth was Reynolds doing he never even got of the Ground for the first goal.

Tottally get Arnu opinion on McCullum but I tell you what if he had started at least one of the two goals may have been prevented, because of all his faults he certainly has more idea in my opinion of how to defend the
box then the hapless Reynolds and Johnson.
It's been clear from day one of the season we give away stupid goals for the want of a Centre back . Let's be honest here the strive for the promised land was never about winning games like yesterday, yea they are nice games to pick points up in but we have dropped points along the way all season because the obvious fault in our team has not been addressed.

At 2-0 down after 5, I had memories of the embarrassing 9-0 against Hereford from 2004. That game was also live on TV, I think that might have been a Friday night.

Yesterday, I would have gone with subbing Jones with Robinson and Balanta with McCullum and gone long ball to try and get flick ons etc with two pacey forwards either side of McCullum. Until then, it seemed we adopted Burnett's tactics of the long ball game to Cureton.

I don't know why Zouma was absent yesterday but he has made a big difference since joining and I don't think they would have got the start they did if he had been present. Wright might be ok as a conventional right back but he's a no no as a central defender and as others have said Reynolds and Johnson inspire little confidence against the tall powerful forwards found in this league. Jones is a highly erratic prima donna who should never be playing in front of Robinson or even Rance.

Was a crap performance against good opposition but agree that people saying we should do this and do that comparing us to Stockport are living in cloud cuckoo land. They get like 9k home attendances and are a far bigger club than we'll ever be and will obviouslybe able to attract better players and experienced league managers.

We’re spending fortunes on strikers and attacking players but peanuts on defenders, the manager has a very good budget yet can’t seem to spend it well across the team. Not sure why people are so quick to come up with excuses for the manager, two years into his tenure we’ve had 6 months of decent form.

I share your sentiments Digger.
We are no bigger than Bromley, Borehamwood or even Halifax in terms of size n budget but they seem to play well, get results and sitting higher than us in the league. The one difference.......the manager.

Agree with you Digger. When he took over I did not think we would go down but certainly knew we were not going up.

Two years on and a fist full of dollars later looks like I am not the only one who still thinks that.

Yesterday only compounded the thought. It's not about beating top teams like Stockport it's the very poor results against bang average teams like Wealdstone, Yeovil, Eastleigh and Altrincham that will cost us. All games lost / drawn were the reason was clear to everybody
