Are the Cobblers our bogey team or what? Played them nine times, lost 8, drawn one, goals for 4, against 16.
On the plus side all the four goals are away at Sixfields, and the only time we haven't lost to them was the last game there, which ended up a Desmond.
So, Saturday is a banker away win then, given our rich vein of current form, goals from all over the park and inspirational leadership...
Good luck to those travelling.
Northampton Town
No Akinfenwa factor this season... my only hope is that the defence is now a bit more confident than the start of the season... their two wingers at Home took turns in taking Partridge and Batt for a ride while Richards was given so much space in the middle for both goals it was unreal.
I wonder if a random Youth team player will get a 92nd minute run out this time round before dissapearing

My favourite game with Northampton was the one they played against Barnet in May 2013!!! I went to that with another Daggers fan as I knew we would lose to York and the result to save us would come at Sixfields!!! Was a good day, although we go a rough reception when we got back to the bar at Victoria Road!!!
We also played ok there last Year actually, and scored two good goals, but apart from that it is normally dire.
I will be going, and would take a point now if offered!!!

LUCKILY I can't make this one and it will probably actually result in us getting a more than unexpected win.
Would definitiely take the draw right now that is for sure!

Noticed they had a good away win Saturday at Exeter 2-0 and played pretty well early on in the season down our manor , and even though they're not having a blooming good season still can't see them losing to us and going first time this term by train so at least being my third there running if the going get's too tough at least can blot it out a bit in that fine boozer on top of the hill, the Sixfields. This one, I feel other than Southend is probably the away tie where we take away the most so it can come with some fun and hopefully a decent sing song, and just hope some effort will be shown by our boys. Luke Norris scored quite a cracker against us but just the one, I think it was their first one.

Why oh why is Lawson D'ath playing for them Saturday. A free agent who went on record as saying money was not an issue he just wanted a Club.
Could not understand how we never signed him after his loan here last season.

Somewhere are the stats for results where D'Ath started vs results when Billy started which were embarrasing in their one sidedness.

And that there lays the rub Lawson D'ath was shit.
Nobody ever suggested he was a Measi, but to me he was far better then those we recruited in the Summer.
His ability to get up and down the pitch is something we have missed all season. His weakness was winning the ball but when he had it you always thought he was capable of doing something with it.
Chesterfield away last season he was superb and his goal at Burton was one from a truly shit player.
Also when he came off the bench you at least thought he could change things,I don't get that feeling this season.
He has more goals in him then either Labadie or Bouchard.
Billy Bingham is a very talented lad but is made of glass borne out by the appearances he has made in the 4 seasons he has been here. There was bound to be times when Billy was not going to be fit,Lawson more then proved an able deputy.
Sometimes I wonder what our supporters think the type of Player we can hope to attract.
Lawson D'ath may not have been the best we have ever had but he was far far far from being the worst.

To summarise your view, D'Ath ran around a lot and scored the odd goal. In other words he was a pretty standard League Two midfielder, much on a par with Labadie in my view, certainly no better. I'd rather have Luke Howell (or Matt Saunders) in the side any day than either TBH.
D'Ath always had a red card in him too as witnessed on New Years Day.
Seriously, one of my mates worked out the stats on points won last season with D'Ath in the team and with Billy in the team and it was scarey.

Hindsight is 20/20 vision would not have had these thoughts pre season but I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the midfielders we have recruited.dagger4eva wrote:Who's fault is that ?????????????????SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:Nobody ever suggested he was a Measi, but to me he was far better then those we recruited in the Summer.

We disagree on a number of issues D4E but even you would agree Lawson was not the worst player ever to pull on a Daggers shirt.SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:Hindsight is 20/20 vision would not have had these thoughts pre season but I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the midfielders we have recruited.dagger4eva wrote:Who's fault is that ?????????????????SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:Nobody ever suggested he was a Measi, but to me he was far better then those we recruited in the Summer.

Of course I wouldn't disagree with that... and actually, the more he played, the more I actually started to rate him.
Obviously hindsight is wonderful.. and with hindsight, just in the same way as you are disappointed with the midfielders we've signed, I and hundreds of other supporters cant tell you enough how disappointed they are with the manager we signed.
It is kinda cute that you still can't bring yourself to join the masses (well, you did for a while) but a flukey win against Bury had you re-converted to the 1 member Wayne Burnett fan club!
