Josh Rees has joined Hornchurch.

We are screwed before the season has even started how can we be losing out on players to teams like Hornchurch

I'd imagine what's gone on at Dagenham this season will have left a bad taste in his mouth. Probably our best player.

I have no inside information but there were rumors on here back at Christmas that players like Josh had been told already they wouldn't be offered a new contract at the end of the season when we were making decisions to end the loan deals like Woodhouse and Junior... No way I would stay if I was him.

Could definitely have stayed a division above though... Great signing for them and the fans seem to think Hill is going there too

One of the best players in the National League. Surprised he didn't sign for a club at a higher level. Only explanation is he must have wanted to stay local.

Either way, at this rate Daggers are going to struggle next season if we're losing our best player to Hornchurch

Does he have his own business? We really must be struggling financially if he wanted to leave us to go part time 🤣

Definitely our best player... surprised but agree easily good enough to stay at NL. It's hard life probably at that level, I think some players do better financially playing part time and maintaining a job outside the game...

No doubt about that, and we've been the beneficiary of it back in the day too. As much as it's gutting I can't begrudge him the move if going part time is the actual motive. Yet again though we are finding out that our players are leaving and signing for other clubs via the other clubs accounts, with not a dickie bird from our side. Rees was our captain for the second half of the season FFS, why does our club always operate under secrecy akin to North Korea?!
