Just watched the Daggers outplay a poor Colchester side. The 1-0 victory gives no indication of how superior we were in all departments. Neither of our goalkeepers had a save to make whereas the U'S keeper was in constant action. We had a young trialist in mid field but he failed to impress. Vigrass was impressive and it was good to see Akinola come on for the final 15 minutes and I guess it won't be long before he reclaims his starting position. An encouraging performance both from the returning injured and some of the younger players.

Very encouraging that Akinola made an appearance after a long absence as he looked very promising before his injury.

Great to see some players coming back from injury, they are desperately required for us to go on a very long run to reach everyone’s ambitions of play offs, a long wining run is something we’ve not done under Strevens but it’s football so you never know.

Not had much to go on by way of appearances, but very much agree with this one... Took his goal really well in his last appearance.

Does winning the ESC produce any funds for the club or players as the club advances? I am thinking something like gas/petrol money for the bus at least but maybe a bit more. I assume it is nothing at all given how the Daggers handle this tournament in the years I have been following the club.
The Essex FA website has very little information that I have found and a tournament bracket has been impossible to find, and Wikipedia only give overall winner results by year and nothing current. The score is not even posted on the Daggers website, I had to come here to find the result. I did find the Cup webpage where it lists results and such for the current year.

As I understand we have to enter this cup competition as our postal address is Essex and as such are members of the Essex Football Association. Also going back in time to the old Dagenham Fc, before the merger, in the 50s,60s,70s and 80s this was a sought after trophy to win. Clubs put out their first teams, attendances were far larger than today and there was a lot of prestige attached to winning this competition.
This all changed however, when the league we are in now, became a feeder league with promotion to the football league. The financial benefits in getting promotion now are so lucrative that competitions such as this and to a certain extent the FA cup have now been devalued, which to a long standing supporter of more than 60 years is something of a disappointment.
Hopefully this will be helpful to you in understanding the history to this competition.

Thanks for sharing that history and how the importance has changed. That helps explain some of this.
