Eastleigh home

We didn't play well but with a few minutes to go thought we were going to grab an underserved victory. I thought Dion could have come on much earlier which may have changed the game but hopefully will be on from the start on Saturday. Probably a fair result, but we equally could quite have easily lost the game.

Thought the decision to start Phipps and Hill instead of PK and Dion was frankly ridiculous. Having said that I would definitely have put Phipps in midfield instead of Hessenthaler.

We got bullied by a big, strong, hard working but very cynical side for most of the game. They fully deserved their point but it was interesting to see how much we struggled against their physical approach, especially considering we aren't exactly lightweight these days.

Taylor ran rings around Hessenthaler all night, we still desperately need a CM if Akinola is not back til January. It is the main thing stopping us from being a very good side.

Agree that Akinola would make a big difference and hopefully see him back sooner than January.

He shouldn't be anywhere near a regular starter. Phipps proved himself more than adequate in midfield and you get the bonus of extra protection against defensive set pieces, and extra threat for attacking ones,

You can keep your 7-1s and 4-0s, would just be nice to be able to protect a one goal lead at home. We always have to score more because you know we'll concede late on.

I thought Eastleigh definitely had good spells, noticeably at 1-1 until Junior scored and then the beginning of the second, but I'm not sure they were as good as some others seemingly think. Ironically, I didn't think they looked like getting an equaliser, but we of course conspired to change that.

Kalambayi was carrying a knock from Training Monday so couldn’t start. We’re a now without a right back and our best player being undercooked, we work hard etc but the quality is not there in depth like we saw with Eastleigh last night. Now have to go to Oldham and win if we want more than another failure season.

I’d say the same here. The first goal was from a Justham mistake, and aside from the double save from El I don’t think they really caused a major threat. They were very good, nasty team and were causing us problems, but until we went 3 at the back I didn’t think we were in trouble. What’s the diagnosis on Rutherford? Not sure how we are going to win again without a right back

If Rutherford's injury now puts him out of contention for a few games what is the situation with Sam Ling and Trent Rendall, are they likely to be available soon?

Ling is done for season, Trent back December .

That's a big loss with Sam Ling then who is such a consistently good player for us. Hopefully Rutherford will be back soon along with Rendall.

Is Ling with us next season or that him done?

Daggers were on course for another home win of potentially huge significance, having overturned an early deficit, but their defensive resolve expired with tedious predictability in stoppage time.
