Snow is not helpful right now

So there is now a streaming platform where I can watch from this side of the Atlantic. There is also a window of opportunity, with the World Cup, where some Saturday matches can be broadcast that works within the UEFA rules on broadcasting around the 3 PM window on Saturday.

And there is the once in 30 years amount of snow from what I have read and the Saturday match is off now. That's just great. I am a bit upset. Partly jealous you have snow and I don't as I love a good winter storm, and I can't watch the match now. Doubly upset.

For the record we don't let snow stop us in American gridiron football. I assume the same is true for the Canadian version of gridiron, though they play is the summer and finish up in late November with the Grey Cup. Here is a picture of my App State team playing a few years ago in all the glorious snow. I was there, freezing my rear off and loving every minute of it,

Ha! You can have our snow with pleasure but take the ice too. The road I live on is currently still like a skating rink, although the roads surrounding are clear. It took me about 30 mins to remove all the snow from the top of of my car and underneath was a layer of ice about an inch thick.

It isn’t the snow as much as the ice and freezing temperatures. The ice and slippery surfaces are a health and safety risk to supporters both in and around the ground. Plus standing around in -2 degrees is considered a risk as well.
They also now take into consideration the risks to supporters travelling to the grounds when the weather is so severe.

It is nice to see the postponements happening at sensible times at present.

This game would not have been streamed anyway so no real loss to you USA Dagger.

Credit to everyone that helped get it on but with overnight lows of minus 6 it’s was never going to happen.

Given that the team won’t have played for 20 days come Maidstone I can see a fairly strong team on Tuesday night now.

I had a ticket for the game but had it been on I would have given it a miss like many others as this cold weather is so extreme at the moment.

I'd like to know how Orient's game went ahead and ours didn't.
Have they had a heatwave in Leyton.

They used a heated dome provided and paid for by Spurs Ladies FC.

I have to admit ice is not good for anyone. We don't get that much winter weather in central North Carolina so we don't have enough plows for the road. Some plows but not enough so we get ice and loss of electricity or we get snow that turns to ice as it melts and refreezes before plows get to residential streets. Major highways will be fine but getting there can be a problem. Hard to justify more plows as folks with complain about the wasted used of tax money but then complain there are not enough plows when it does snow. My wife and I both teach secondary school science so we don't have to go to work on bad weather days as a general rule. That is one reason I don't mind it so much.

My sister sent me a picture of her back yard that is a few km from Victoria Road. It was indeed a good amount of snow for sure.

I thought it was on the list for streaming. But I did a quick look so I might have thought I saw it when I did not.

-6 C is likely getting cold enough that salting roads may not make a big difference.
