I guess I need to post more during the game because about 5 seconds after I hit submit we get a goal.

I predicted an extra time goal, but not by us to earn a draw.

I noticed Wrexham did pull out the win after being down in their fixture.

How can Darryl leave out sagaf , Morias and Long-king ?
I moaned about it in my own thread at half time. Funny when he brings all 3 on we get the draw. I imagine were not getting out of this league this season either.

How we can end up fielding that team first day of the new season is beyond me. Once again it seems he has failed to fix any of our glaring problems over the summer.

The apologist will say its first game Mark.

Said it before Mr Mcmahon has many attributes as a Coach but defending is not one of them . Looks like it's going to another season where we will have to score 2 goals plus a game to get any kind of result.

Sorry since Manny returned he dont look half the player that left and will struggle to get a game if he continues in this vain

Nice too see we brought 2 towering centre halves in this summer to address the amount of goals we conceded last season, yet we start with both of them on the bench…

Normally one of manny’s biggest fans but today was the worst I have ever seen him, got skinned 4 times and played a major part in both of Gateshead’s goals, he was rightfully hooked at HT.

Rescued it in the end with practically last kick of the game,
Karma, after Gateshead’s awful time wasting & feigning injury through out the whole game, which the ref seemed to fall for every time.

2 pts dropped but hopefully today was a kick up the ass for Daryl and the players.

Last season we started with a positive win at Stockport, no doubt there fans were as disappointed then as we are now, keep the hope as we’re gonna romp this league….. now where did I leave my half empty glass??

The first goal came down our left, couple of passes around our statue players and we were done for. Second goal we again stood still waiting for offside bloke nips in and scored, not sure manny was at fault for with. Hare looked out of his depth at right centre half, bullied time and time again just does not have the physical presence for it.

We never won because our best player was on the bench and Mussa was marked out the game, manager at fault for not rectifying it at 1-0 and picking that side in the first place.

The real difference was the work ethic, Gateshead players had cramp and we took a stroll over the park, bar Robinson. The manager and players need to get their heads out their arses and start to work a bit harder or it’s just going to be the same old Dagenham.

Gateshead we’re robbed on chance created but the antics bit them on the arse in the end, had they carried on playing they would have won.

Can’t disagree with any of these comments. Sad to see Manny struggling but it’s a brutal game so I don’t want to see him in the next game. Just didn’t seem to want it as much as they did. We were almost beaten by a team that I would bet big money on to be relegated this season. Depressing.

Where do we start with that today......

Why would you not start Morais ?

Why would you not start Sagaf ?

McMahon PLEASE Stop playing 3-5-2, you don't have the players to play it, everybody can see it, apart from you !!, we are so open at the back, down both flanks, it's just a joke.

First game, and we are 2 down before we get started, to a bang average team, who will finish bottom half of the league.

Have you not learned any lessons from last season at all ?, doesn't look like it on today's evidence.

The trends from pre-season all alluded to Hare starting in a back three and Rance in midfield. Both of which were of considerable concern to supporters, justifiably in the end. How can you sign two specialised centre halves then bench both to play a right back there instead? Baffling management to say the least, for which the logic isn't clear whatsoever.

The script we've come to expect from McMahon really. Enough goals to counteract the glaring defensive deficiencies. That was never in doubt but I worry we're essentially no better than last season, the early goals in particular make you wonder what on earth we worked on in pre-season. The same mistakes will yield the same outcome.

It's fortunate that we've managed to play that horrifically in spells and get away with it. Second half felt like when we were chasing games last season, especially the ones against Torquay and King's Lynn in the final few weeks, consisting of aimlessly playing it sideways unable to penetrate a robust block. Like the latter of those, we still managed to find a 95th minute leveller and excellently taken it was from Morias to earn a point we'll take in the circumstances.

For Woking, I want to see Longe-King for Onariase, Tavares for Hare, Ling for Vilhete, Sagaf for Rance and Morias for Walker. We can't field that eleven again.

''Dagenham & Redbridge look a very different side to about ten or fifteen minutes ago when they were on the back foot, and here's Benson...BRILLIANT!''

Totally this. Shocking formation and wrong personnel. Imagine if Thommo knew anything about the actual football? Would have crucified McMahon today…..

I have to say I couldn't believe the line up when I saw it before the match. As far as I know Hare has never played central defence and he plays instead of two central defenders one of whom, when he came on, was our best player, even if he only played 45 minutes. Utterly bizarre. Sagaf who always seems the first to be left out is a better player than Rance will ever be. Weston is showing his age and didn't get a decent cross over all game and Villette is just a circus act and Morais , comfortably our most consistently threatening forward for ages, doesn't get on until it's almost too late. Oh! and I never want to see McCallum take another penalty ever again. Otherwise a pretty convincing display!

But Pablo, the football ‘experts’ in the executive boxes voted Weston Man of the Match 😂
