Am I missing something Auntie Merge . For resolution 1 to pass it needed 48 votes . That is 75% of the votes cast.

So how come it got passed with only 46 votes which is not the 75% majority needed.

If that is acceptable which clearly it should not be what stops the 7 Clubs who wanted to stop ,furloughing their players tonight and signing on volunteers and supporters to play the remaining games and thus making a mockery if the whole season

Reading the original resolution stuff it says the Resolution 1 would be voted for under prescribed voting and then for 2 and 3 specifically mentions one vote per club.

That suggests that the prescribed voting isn’t a straight one vote each, so it’s possible the 75% has been reached. It’s probably that the National club votes count for more than a North or South club vote does.

Damn. Was hoping for a null and void.

Farcical. You’ve got clubs saying they’re not going to play any more games, no relegation, and who knows if you will get promotion. The competition lacks any integrity if you have teams now furloughing players and playing youth players as they can’t get relegated. Who is buying streaming passses for what is largely a load of friendlies?

The reason behind the decision to abstain was simple, in that, the Club was excluded from any offer of financial support from the Sports Winter Survival Package for National League Clubs, and the Club was being asked to consider the same proposals as the other 65 Clubs, but on a different basis.

Don’t suppose there is a chance we can loan Danny Green off Concord for the rest of the season if they haven’t got any more matches. The match against us showed he can still put a cross on a 5p piece.

Got to feel sorry for the majority of National League South clubs as their league voted against stopping - if they were not pooled with the North in the votes, they’d be playing on.

With Dover refusing to play and I think one or two others might chuck in some sort of patched up kids or reserves it could all become a farce. Wealdstone have released a player today, not sure its anything to do with the outcome but it could be a start for them releasing a few although, their player turnover is huge.

So whatever happens we won't go down?

No relegation as north and south now null and voided but some a stupidly looking at legal action, looks like some clubs have applied and will be sent loans and Dover applied for one so will now have no excuse not to continue but have 28 games to play in 12 weeks.

Is it stupid to take legal action?

If you are in the conf south and majority of your division voted to carry on, but you can’t because majority of teams in conf north don’t want to, why not take action to continue?

Also, if they only started the season because they were told by the league that there would be grants to finish the season, which caused them to sign players, pay wages, incur expenses etc when the season just should not have started and their clubs could have been mothballed, shouldn’t they have a right of recourse?

Didn’t see the clubs asking for a copy of the Guarantee the funds were there for the whole season. South Shields spends hundreds of thousands on legal action when their league was curtailed last season and got nowhere, good luck to those that are doing it but they don’t stand a chance with gaining anything.

2 different points here though.

First one, is there a provision that a simple majority of step 2 clubs can declare the season for both step 2 leagues null and void. Eg if every club in the North voted to end the season and 1 club in the south, that would end the season for the south even though all but 1 club voted against it. Is that provided for in the league’s rules? Dunno.

Second one is was there a misrepresentation (innocent or negligent) by the league that they had secured guarantees which caused them to agree to start the season and incur loss? The league seem to be saying they had guarantees, the government are saying they didn’t.
