A comment on Facebook rumouring Gary Waddock or Nicky Shorey might be within a shout.

I'd have taken Waddock a few years ago but definitely not now.

Shorey is a local lad, interesting rumour.

It’s been pointed out that Shorey is currently a scout at Reading, probably more likely he is at the game to watch Ben House.

Can’t be having waddock, his another one in the Taylor mould, remember the shots fans calling for his head moaning the football was dire!

I don’t think he’ll leave Eastleigh but Strevs might me a decent shout. I’ve seen a load of Eastleigh games with him at the helm.
3-5-2 man and I think we have the players to potentially make system that work even before adding some of his own players.
He also seems to have a plan b in terms of team shape when needed and he doesn’t usually make the baffling decisions we’ve been used to over the past season and a half.
Plus he’s stabilised the club after the finding was pulled. Even though they still had some top players on decent money last season, getting them to the play off semi was a huge achievement.
Speaks well too most of the time - no bullshit, says it how it is and puts his hands up if he gets it wrong.
And of course he knows the club.

Just seen that..

I’m not putting 2 & 2 together or anything but it certainly looks likely now in my opinion

Would be over the moon with Daryl McMahon.

I'd probably avoid Strevs for the mo. Done a great job with Eastleigh so far but I'd be wary of appointing someone off the back of around 12 months managerial experience given the situation we're in currently.

Suppose there's a positive to be taken from the fact that whoever gets the job will have near enough a full two weeks to work with the squad before the next league game and might be able to try some things in the Trophy.

Agree with this assessment on Strevs.

Think its too soon for him, to be thrown into this situation.
