Looking forward to the manager's post match comments about how Balanta should get more goals.....

Cracking header from the first off a fairly ordinary cross. We were unlucky not to be leading before that really following the first 15 minutes although we did go a bit flat in the middle of the first half.

I thought Will Wood had an ok game but had a mare for Wrexham's goal and they seemed to be targeting his side with runs in between him and Croll. We nearly got caught out 2-3 times. Glad Taylor took him off. In an ideal world, Clark will be back soon and we can get Croll back out there.

Thought Wright had an excellent game at right back today and Brundle/Robinson dictated the midfield. Kandi was twice the player today that Quigley will ever be and Justham's save in the 2nd half was outstanding.

Let's hope Balanta's injury isn't too bad.

That’s more like it, much more attacking set up with the best players available actually picked. No complaints really but should have score at least 2-3 more.

What a save from Justham at 1-1 to tip it onto the bar.

Balanta has done his groin was right infront of us, that will be a few weeks. Time for a few others to really step up.

Good win to bounce back with. Wrexham may not be anywhere near the top of the table, but they tested us a fair bit. Decent performances from everyone. Chike Kandi has to continue starting for us, he just offers so much more of a threat that neither Grant or Quigley can match.

The defending for their goal was inexcusable. Don’t understand why no one wanted to clear it. Even with Clarke coming back whenever, I would like to see us sign another centre back because we are shakey as it is. One more injury and we are buggered.

Justham’s save was unbelievable today. Bloke earns every single penny that he gets from us and then some.

Not a bad a day at all, after the drop down last week the way to reply is a good home win and other than the odd mistake and piss poor weather well we did deserve that. A new beefed up Kandi thoroughly deserved his M.O.M he was finding gaps especially second half down that left flank so well and at times the dragons couldn't knuckle it down. Thought Wrighty again was class and a Brundle in a more central defence fit was a good option, and with at last the Bluebirds breaking their roll think Tuesday could be quite a night.

We've played better this season and not won. Thought it was an ok performance, Wrexham were poor and matched us, could have got something on another day.

Kandi caused loads of problems, hopefully his end product will sharpen up with game time. Robinson also thought he got through tons of work breaking up Wrexham attacks. As for the rest, mainly average, some slightly below.

Great goal by Balanta, going to be a big loss for us.

That really was a weird old game with what in the most part seemed quite a subdued atmosphere - probably summed up best by Taylor as he was coming off the pitch and said "that was abit better than last week eh lads"

An improved and more attacking starting lineup and frankly it was amazing we hadnt gone in at HT with at least a 2 or 3 goal lead. What a bloody header from Balanta though.

2nd half there seemed to be alot of huff & puff but clearly a lot of character within the squad to bounce back from the equaliser.

Kandi was the clear standout performer for me. Literally did not stop running the entire match. Even after an hour / 70 mins when he was blowing our his arse and could barely move still kept trying his absoute best.

I really thought we looked vulnerable at the back, and Wrexham targeted us from the off with cross after cross into our box. We defended ok in most parts but l couldnt help but thinking a team with an ounce more quality than Wrexham wouldve put some of those chances away.

I know cramp has been mentioned but Angelo looked in all sorts of bother when hobbling off down the tunnel holding his groin.

On to what will most definitey be a harder game Vs Barrow on Tuesday!

Very impressive performance overall with Taylor's substantial team alterations proving successful. Kandi seems a much more intelligent player this year and with 2 goals and an assist from his 2 games this season is proving to be more than just a source of running as previously thought. He had the beating of that defender every single time and his blistering pace is going to be a huge asset to us, especially if Balanta's awkward-looking injury matches the severity of people's expectations.

Will Wood had a mixed game, a great assist for the goal counteracted by some very inept defending for Wrexham's, but considering he was thrust into the lineup from absolutely nowhere it's hard to criticise him. Dobson and Luque caused many problems and offer more attacking-wise than McQueen and Graham, not to mention the link-up play with Balanta which was very effective.

Only negatives were that we seem unable to kill a game off and that will definitely cost us, as it has already. Plus, the equalising goal for them was absolutely comical and evidence of the sloppy starts we seem to make in the second half. Other than that, though, very good reaction to recent disappointments and a good platform to build on ahead of a huge game on Tuesday.

Some awful defending leading to Wrexham’s goal, should have been down Surrey Rd before they got a second and third go at it!
Main concern is Ballanta, he won’t be about for a few games and I can’t see who is going to step into his shoes... I know how about another defender.

MATCH REPORT: DAGGERS TOO SHARP FOR NERVOUS WREX

It was a performance as much about grit and determination as it was attacking flair and creativity - here's my match report from Saturday's much-needed, richly-deserved home success - https://dagnificent.weebly.com/match-re ... xham-afc-1
