Statement from the flag owners

The following statement was posted by Steve Wilson in the Daggers Friends Facebook group. This statement has nothing to do with me, I just thought it should be seen by all those who are not on Facebook since it contains a key viewpoint of recent on-goings within the club. Plus it acts as a medium for individuals to confirm/deny if they wish etc.
STATEMENT RE: “FAKE EMAILS”
It is widely known that, as the owners of the North Korean Daggers, Trumps Daggers, Soviet State of Dagenham and Politically Correct flags, we have handled (and therefore been implicated in) the “Fake Email” saga that has been ongoing at the Club for the past months. During this time we have not disclosed who it was that showed us the email in the first instance and let us take a photo of it. We had not disclosed the name of this person since we considered him trustworthy, well-established and reputable, and also out of respect for him and his role within the Club. At a meeting at the Club with Mr. P Gwinn and Mr. S Thompson last night, this person had the opportunity to step forwards and help move the club forwards from the hole that it currently finds itself in. Instead he decided to completely deny all knowledge of the email and quite happily condemn life-long Dagenham & Redbridge fans to banning orders. As such we no longer feel it appropriate to protect the identity of this person for any longer, and therefore are happy to put on record that the “Fake Email” was provided to us by David Simpson (aka Simmo).
We are immensely disappointed that, at the meeting last night, he decided to completely deny all knowledge or involvement in this affair. It is understandable that Mr Gwinn and Mr Thompson have decided to take his word over ours in relation to this matter, but given the current perilous state of the Club we feel it appropriate to inform the wider fanbase. We are also aware that there are a few other Daggers fans that have known for a period of time of Mr Simpson’s involvement. Unfortunately, the impression given at the Club last night was that if this “Fake Email” issue does not get resolved then we will not have a Dagenham & Redbridge to support next season – it is therefore dependent on Mr Simpson to front up and accept his responsibility in this affair to therefore offer some hope of salvaging the mess.
We will not immediately be answering any questions on this matter,
The Flag Owners
