And Ashley Chambers at Grimsby
Who saw that coming - said no one in the Dagenham area

Would a fully fit Bingham thrive in the league... no doubt. Do we desperately need central midfield cover? Not so sure
Would the Hemmings of old be a great fit on the wing... absolutely... would the one from last season benefit us? No way
Chambers is a decent league two squad player but would make very few staying elevens stronger

More ex dagger news. James Dunne, who had a reasonably decent loan spell with us a few years ago has been released by Cambridge.

Ashley Chambers has signed a 2 year deal with Nuneaton.
Good luck to him.

On our own front, the East London football podcast reckons Gutteridge is retiring to become an agent

Hemmings, Murphy, Chambers(now signed for Nuneaton) no thanks, don't want the passion less bunch that got us relegated. MURPHY stopped playing for us as soon as he had a sniff that Oldham wanted him. Mystery ankle injury if I remember correctly, following week he's fit to start.
Maybe Bingham at a push but another injury risk.
Personally I wouldn't be sad to see Gutteridge go.

Depends which Gutteridge turns up as to whether I would miss him. The one at the beginning of the season that got some key goals and could put in a few good passes would be a loss. The one that came back from injury towards the end of the season who just seemed to run around shouting at other players without really putting in a shift himself probably not.

Losing JMD and Gutts are huge wholes to fill. John has a massive summer ahead of him especially if teams come in for Whiteley and Fejiri. Last time we lost a load of decent players we finished just outside the play offs in league two and the following season we went up.
Hopefully we resign Williams and Robinson gets fit so Robson can slot back in central defence. John wants Pennell as his left back so that would be the back four. Would like to see us go for Femi though and can't be that hard to get him off Boreham.
Looking at active teams so far Sutton could be a surprise package already signed two very good players in Davis who was Borehams best player and Lafaette from Dover. They already had a half decent team.

If Gutts is retiring, then Danny Hollands, who has just been released by Crewe would be a perfect replacement.
