The 2016/17 season is in the history books for the Daggers. DiggerDagger.com looks at things on and off the field and makes a few suggestions for the future.

For those unsure, this is all opinion.

Would be very disappointed if Bury Road end became the away end. I know it probably makes sense in terms of atmosphere but I hate seating at football and don't like standing in the sieve.

Unless you go right to the front and center of the sieve you can't see the whole pitch, it's cold and dreary as there's no sun getting in there and even on lower attendances there's far less space per person than at Bury Road. I guess my second choice would be the TBS.

Given I've already purchased a standing ticket I'd be quite put out to be shunted round the side!

We should stick most away fans where we put FGR next season, it would be big enough for most of the teams. TBS could then become the family stand, it has all the right facilities to attract young families.

I think that putting away fans where there is a bar is important. Away fans drink more generally, especially those who have traveled by public transport or coach so I guess the decision to put them in the TBS is a commercial one. Of course when the Bury Road end has a roof and a bar it might be worth re-visiting.

Leave the roof off.

Feasibly you could put Guiseley, Solihull, Boreham Wood, Maidenhead (?), Fylde, Barrow, Gateshead and Eastleigh in the Barking College without any worries next season. And you can probably add a few more into that along with any teams from up North/South-West travelling on a Tuesday night.

There's plenty of room behind the back of the TBS to actually have activities going on that would actually constitute a 'family stand' atmosphere, while still allowing those that want to drink to do so inside the concourse of the stand itself. Suppose the clincher is working out what would genuinely attract families to come as a group (aside from ticket prices, obviously).

TBS should be the home end.It could incorporate a family section as the carling used to,although paedo songs and Jimmy Saville stuff isn't really what you want near a family with kids.(Has it stopped ??).Seat away support in the Barking and Dagenham or whatever its called this week and give up part of the sieve to large away support like orient. When we go back up revert to how it is now.Roof on the Bury road end please Job done !

I'm not sure that Forest Green necessarily got it right yesterday anyway. Away fans make an atmosphere and if the away support is noisy it often wakes up the home fans and cranks up the volume on both sides. I like it when the away fans are in the shed/sieve. It makes it edgier. My thoughts are TBS (right hand side with left hand side fro home fans) and the bit of sieve at the end for away fans. Then they have the choice to stand or sit and also have access to the bar. Happy days. Anyways flip flop time now.......

It's always puzzled me why you'd have away fans sitting on top of the dressing rooms and able to cluster round the players' tunnel making a hell of a noise. It rather takes away some home advantage?

So you finally win me over on one of your long term projects and you still knock me back. Ah well. I particularly enjoyed the "When we go back up revert to how it is now" bit. Huh??

Agree 100% on the chants though, need to stop all the silly stuff and concentrate on supporting the team. That includes random chants about Southend and Barnet.

Now, where is that hat?....

Everyone keeps on about making the TBS home fans only but how many took the option up at the beginning of the season maybe a 100.

not actual sure on the numbers but if 100 choose the tbs as a season ticket then thats a high % id say 20% of our season tickets in tbs which is pretty decent. 50% in carling so roughly 30% gave up the terrace.
still best place to watch footy in non league so will renew mine there.

The key would be to go for the family friendly stuff in the TBS, try to encourage new people in.

How about we promote it with a kid for a quid every game with an adult (including on the gate). Get Digger the dog sitting in there, do face painting etc. Make a day at the Daggers something kids nag their dad's to take them to.

And if the away fans are standing in the rain we don't even have to match the offer to them.

Blinding, no?

Been in Family for three seasons with my boys but they like the times we've been moved to The Builders or gone there for cup games. And enjoyed it on Thursday..Now the dilemma of what ST to buy has now been removed by losing yesterday (every cloud) so we're going to renew for The Builders. I think the improved view and atomosphere probably worth the extra £40..As for the language, yes it's not ideal but the genie's out the bottle for my boys (12 & 13) as unfortunately they hear it outside football and been known to let the odd word go themselves (I know, shocking parenting ;)). When Doidge was being abused yesterday a woman said to me she didn't know why people brought kids to football due to the swearing! I just shrugged,it's always gone at football. I heard it as a child but it didn't turn me into a terrible person!
