Would it send us to the wall if we tried out a well advertised, say 40% slash on prices, on the gate, on the day?

It would be a nice experiment to see once and for all if it is just pricing policy which is keeping people away?

Although if it did bomb, we'd need to cover the loss from somewhere?

Just thinking aloud.... :ugeek:

Cutting prices from £17 to £12 would require gates to rise by 42% - a 40% cut in prices would require a 66% increase in gates to derive the income.

Is that likely?
Probably not unfortunately.I do think the answer lies in the pricing though.Unless of course we are gonna win 5-0 every week its our only weapon.

Perhaps they could try something along the lines of Hartlepool ie a cheaper ST which saw their average gate really shoot up a couple of years ago although it has steadily gone back down since (just like their team!),alternatively Bradford have previously done a ST for £100 (not sure if they still do) although the downside is you had to pay by the end of Dec for the following season, the upside is it could be a Christmas present, maybe an idea along these lines.
Hopefully if West Ham get relegated some disaffected fans will leave them & come to watch us.
