Poor that it comes out so late, moan about lack of funds but don't help themselves commercially.

The point DTD makes is a good and valid one though.
We moan about not having a pot to piss in and yet, 2 days from our home friendly were we could potentially sell say 200 shirts at what, £35 a pop is missed. A few much needed few grand in the bank.

Of course it matters any income the club can secure is vital with or without the current circumstances. We sell a lot more kits than 200. This is the sort of response you would expect from Thommo.admin wrote:Doesn't matter much anyway, we always release our away kits late anyway, we're never organised. Doubt we'll sell more than 200 anyway.
We release our kits late because the commercial side is a shambles, new kit should have been in early June ready to sell, except we have lost two months worth of selling in the summer, also people have summer holidays to pay for now had it been a month earlier they may have bought it but now more less likely also with the football starting again and having to pay for games. It's close season income for most clubs but not us.

It's not like we don't know
a) when we are changing our kit
b) when the season ends
Imo you should be able to preorder (and pay) for your new away shirt at the same time as you buy your early bird season ticket.
But all this involves advance marketing planning... Something this club seems adverse to.
In my own business I'm already planning March and April 2017, an event in August 2017 and thinking forward on a project for 2019/2020. This is how commercial organisations act.
I bet the club hasn't even had a thought about 2017/2018, which will be our 25th anniversary season.
I think my post was misunderstood.
Is it poor that we haven't released the new kit yet, yes of course it is, makes us look unprofessional.
Is there commercial opportunities missed (e.g. Selling an extra few shirts during pre season home matches), once again yes of course and that's an extra few quid the club needs.
But what I meant was, we do this all the time (see how long it took to release the black and yellow kit, wasn't even available to buy for the start of the season) and look at us as a club constantly missing commercial opportunities, is anyone really surprised?
Finally to answer your point on the amount we sell, away kits generally don't sell as well as home kits on top of which we only have a fan base of around 1300, take off floating supporting, people watching Dagenham as second team, people who don't wear club merchandise and people outside of that who might just not get one and that only leaves around 250 at best

Good away kits sell fine. Something that is a "casual shirt" rather than overtly a football shirt will generally sell OK.admin wrote:I think my post was misunderstood.

The green and the garish yellow and black, not great, you wouldn't be seen out in them other than at a game. The last away kit I bought was the plain royal blue one. Before that the glory hunter Charlton blue stripes.
White is a decent call, although I thought Tommo didn't like white as it is hard to keep clean.
I won't buy anything with the surrender badge on though ;)

Its white with something going on in the top half , blue and Red oblong I think I heard.
Agree with the previous poster no more then 300 are likely to be sold but bearing in mind they are likely to be resourced in a sweat shop in some remote part of the former empire at a fiver A pop fair amount of Wonga to be made .
On second thoughts the colour at the top of the shirt can't be blue or red as they can't be of a colour that appears in the home shirt anyway for what's it's worth it ain't going to be completeley white
