Pride is a funny thing.Especially in the male of the species. The things we pride ourselves in..saying what we think, not grassing, doing the honourable thing, standing up for your own,not wanting to appear weak etc etc....

Anyway the main thrust of this thread....

Whilst I really hope and strangely believe WB could still pull this off and keep us up I cant help but feel if we plummet from the FA cup on Tuesday night it would be resignation time for him.I know he would have to be paid off but Im sure he could reach a settlement favourable to both parties and therefore retain some pride in the fact he did the honourable thing.I for one believe he has been harshly treated by a great many up till now but unfortunately despite all the protests and excuses WB has given(Some more than fair Id say) the scores on the doors do not appear to be improving and Weds game was probably the worst I've seen one of his teams ever play.Given the right tools Im sure WB would be great but what we need is a manger who can work with some sometimes pretty crappy tools and weasel out a win or two. There is no shame having tried and failed, there is a credibility issue with someone when not knowing when to call it a day becomes embarrassing. The board do lack spine here, they could put him out of his misery now, again this is misguided pride, its clearly making him ill, they have a duty of care afterall. We all know we're gonna lose Tuesday and Saturday after.Despite being an ST holder Im going to watch Braintree play Kidderminster instead of the Oxford game to see what the conf is gonna be like.
