I'm sure that's what we are trying to avoid, serious chance of relegation if it happens.

That might be a blessing if we are going to start again lets start where its cheaper
If that’s what he’s on about, then I don’t get how what I’ve said is wrong. My point is that if we sold them in January we probably could have got more money from clubs in the league above. Because both are sure as shit better than the teams they’ve gone to.SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:Its simple maths mate they are our biggest earners and we cant afford to pay them, things are desperate.NBDag wrote:I clearly haven’t because I don’t get what’s wrong with that?Mike the Dagger wrote:

Dont look like the investors in the failed consortium will be getting their money back anytime soon.
Why would anybody buy it now , nobody is goung to pay a milliion for shares when they will just have to pay tge administrator a fraction and offer creditors 10p in the pound anytime soon

No announcement was made as we could have got top whack for them, simple really. As they went unsold/no offers the exodus begins.
I would guess we got barely 5 figures for either player and will be chasing our tails for the rest of the season.

Players were for sale in January, but no one came in for them. We also were hoping Hopkin could.be talked round, the meeting where it became final was on the 31st January.
Also, had we announced the issues earlier while the window was open transfer values would have gone down immediately, everyone loves a bargain. As it is, we are now in fire sale mode to get what e can and the wage bill down.

Sooner lose players and get relegated 'legitimately' if theres such a thing than become a 4-5 year circus act just to go boom anyway.
We don’t need to openly admit the issues to sell a player. I find it hard to believe that either of Ling and Ferrier got a sniff in January. As for waiting for Hopkin to come back then I can understand that to a certain extent. But the club have to take responsibility for a major balls up if that doesn’t work. Which it hasn’t. So ultimately, it was a risk that shouldn’t have been taken in the first place (if this is what happened). Easy to say with hindsight, I know, but the board’s naïvety might have cost us here.

A free player turned down so they knew back then we were in trouble :-
Aron Greaves I Offered Daggers ex Leeds player billy whitehouse for nothing last month who played in Leeds first team last season didn't even get invited in for a trial. Shows daggers ambitions absolutely ZERO

It's like winning he lottery and splurging it all in one go and not leaving any left to pay your way. Pathetic board we have.
Now who hasn’t been paying attention. I said I fail to believe that either player went all of January without attracting an enquiry. Ferrier Especially.Mike the Dagger wrote:Someone has to be buying though.NBDag wrote:We don’t need to openly admit the issues to sell a player. Well thats simple when he joined us the fee was subject to a fee to be set by a Tribunal. At sometime or other we were going to get a bill for him from Boreham Wood a bill we could not pay. We therefore sold him back for the tribunal fee and got him of the wage book which i would not br surprised is probably one of the highest.
Saw this earlier and felt like giving you a hug.Pondfield Dagger wrote:wow. absolutely gutted ferrier has gone, our best and most important player in my opinon..gone!! at least my second best player is still here ling!!! well as of today lol
