Yes I cant see how the loss of a player/players who aren't getting a start would mean this game gets called off.I agree it seems a silly decision.Kevin wrote:Weather, cup replays, etc - yep, I get it too..it is a risk you take.ARNU wrote:I do get it,my son more than me thesedays is a victim.I remain unmoved by the argument though. We all know football gets postponed for a lot of reasons and this happens on a regular basis. Its a risk you take.
The club choosing to do it..especially at this short notice, just seems a little odd to me.
Surely Boucaud being unavailable is a good thing..?!? :?

We had two cup ties between the decision to postpone and the game, we would have looked A complete load of muppets if we had picked up injuries in them games to add to the players already missing.ARNU wrote:Yes I cant see how the loss of a player/players who aren't getting a start would mean this game gets called off.I agree it seems a silly decision.Kevin wrote:Weather, cup replays, etc - yep, I get it too..it is a risk you take.ARNU wrote:I do get it,my son more than me thesedays is a victim.I remain unmoved by the argument though. We all know football gets postponed for a lot of reasons and this happens on a regular basis. Its a risk you take.

Apparently the reason for the late call off, was a very late call up on Friday, about 2 hours before the deadline for calling off. As well as Connors and Bouchard I understand one of Mulraney and Hoyte has been called up with the other being about to be called up (I can't remember which way round it is).
Anyway, thats the reason. I don't totally agree with it, because we have 3 or 4 players playing yesterday who did well who are only here on loan, so I would want to play as many games as possible in that time??
With regards to trains Arnu, 10-12 weeks in advance is the only time to find affordable fares normally. You leave it will 7 days before (which would have been the only way to mitigate this one for instance) and you would be looking at about 80 sheets for a return I think.
Maybe the Club could buy a couple of pints for any fans who had bought train tickets?? Not going to make up for £40 or £50, and the Club doesn't have to do it, but may be a away to rebuild some bridges??

Or those who have proof they had bought traintickets already get free coach journey to the game perhaps.DI Mike Dashwood wrote:Apparently the reason for the late call off, was a very late call up on Friday, about 2 hours before the deadline for calling off. As you say, its not something they have to do but builds some very rocky bridges.
Im only saying you take a chance with the train tickets.Done it myself.I did it in the full knowledge it might go wrong. However unhappy that made me I couldn't really moan about it afterwards.Thats not to say I dont have some sympathy with the general point.

Thing about this cancellation is seems to tie you around a barrel, not only have I lost (and no doubt from what I'm hearing quite a few others) the 40 quid rail fare but only after the Hatters game just last week did I buy the match ticket so when they do re-schedule feel 21 quid is still outstanding too and pull out maybe losing day and a half to 2 days off work even if you decide to drive up there midweek to 'make use of admission fee'. Why left it so late is tbh not on and a fair deal. I thought why shuck the rail fare down the drain and do it still and hit a match close to rail links like Blackpool at home to Donny or the highly entertaining Lancs derby between Bamber Bridge and Lancaster City!
