I must admit I was baffled by wayne's team selection today. I thought Doidge did well last week, yet he can't even get on as a sub. Jakubiak and Jones were like fior like subs replacing chambers and Luke at a time when we needed to mix it up a little. It's not as though teams like burton, southend and wycombe played us off the pitch, there's just no variation in our play. Very disappointed and annoyed that we've once again shot ourselves in the foot by being inept tactically. And does anyone else think obileye is becoming a liability?

Obileye. A liability. I've heard it all. Arguably Ayo has been the difference between us being comfortably sitting in mid-table to being in a real relegation fight. Yes, sometimes Ayo plays poor balls forward, but you cannot expect a league two centre half to have amazing distribution. Defensively, Ayo is very strong and he doesn't lose the ball in dangerous areas, which you would have a right to criticise a defender at any level for.

No but I do expect him to lift his bonce now and again and look for a pass instead of an aimless hoof forward. You'll see how good he his, should god forbid Doe gets injured.

Ayo would be my player of the season if Cureton wasn't here.He made a couple of mistakes today which was 2 more than hes ever made in a daggers shirt ever.That boy will go all the way,he will play in the prem.

Sorry to disagree mate, but there's no chance of that happening. League 1 at best.

As others have said, Obileye has been superb. Liability is taking the p1ss. Since his Introduction i would love to see how many we've conceded.

He is destined for big things. Championship is certainly achieves or and then who knows. Clearly talented. Better than Doey imho. And I rate doey also.

Will go further than Doe up the pyramid no doubt (not certain about Premier League!) but Doe is incredibly good at making decent players look fantastic when he plays along side them as I think he helps young players immensely. In a team where he needs to just defend, Ayo is brilliant... we don't need him to be the person starting our attacks as we seemed to try and do yesterday though. He seemed to get every ball back.

If you're going to criticise Ayo for "aimlessly hoofing it" you've got to give the same criticism to Doey.

It's pretty laughable that it's been claimed that Ayo doesn't make mistakes. He wasn't really any different today than he has been since he signed for us.
He's been a massive improvement on Saah, but he's always been a little bit on the clumsy side and made mistakes every so often.
He has loads of potential for someone so young, but Premier League class he ain't.

Hes still learning.Gayle wasn't prem standard when he left here either,but had something about him.It'll be a long while but Im sure we'll find out one day.

Ayo is a good League Two standard centre half at the moment. Big, strong and imposing at the back, but not the greatest with his distribution. Reminds me a bit of Magnus tbh. That isn't to say he can't get better, or that he hasn't made all the difference to us since he came in, but he's going to need to add some footballing ability to the mix to play a great deal higher than where he is now.

Not sure how this thread got sidelined tbh, my original point was what Alan and Adrian said. Once we started making changes having gone behind we just brought on like for like, never changed shape or asked any different question of Wycombe and they were always favourites to see it out. Shame JC missed the one decent chance we got, although that was not exactly a great piece of creative play was it.

I remember a time when Crystal Palace were 'looking at' Doey. Then again Wilko was being scouted by Villa and Norwich if you'd believed SkySports - something I wouldn't recommend.

Thought that after they scored we would bring on Doidge as some kind of outlet/presence up front. After hearing the reports of how good he apparently was against Stevenage surprised he wasn't bought on. Wycombe were a strong physical team (They also seem to have adopted the tactics of getting 3 men around the officials to question a decision when it went against them, best one when their bloke kicked it straight out and they were moaning at the linesman, probably Saunders!) and the way the game was going after they scored a change in tactics was needed and didn't seem to happen.
