Thought I’d start a thread that asks a simple question…
HAS HE GONE YET?
This is directed at two in general namely Lewis Young and James King.
Lewis young should go because he is not good enough and is tactically inept his record as head coach is a total disaster.
James King is the “sporting director” so recruitment is down to him, and what has he recruited? Young players who immediately go out on loan or journeymen who have no interest other than a pay packet and to drag the soul out of our club.
Views on this and others who should be on this list.
Has he gone yet?

Both have to go.
As does the poison that is Thompson.
Dan Hall too.

I'll look forward to that video then, best make sure I've got the notification bell turned on!
In all seriousness though, if not now, when? With the best of respect to Lewis Young, as he does come across as someone who is passionate and genuine, he is clearly out of his depth. (Well at least he used too, now he appears more apathetic)
To give him such a long deal was clearly a mistake, we all knew it at the time, if he were to have the job it should have been till the end of the season. This shows how poor our recruitment has been. (And seriously this season has been spectacularly bad)
So now Young is in the the very early stages of a long contract, and we can all see where this is leading, if not now, when will he be given the push?
Are we going to wait till we're in the bottom half of NLS and loose 4-2 at home to Weston Super Mare in February 2026?
I imagine the contract is written in such a way that means sacking Young now will be come with a hefty financial burden , yet if it means we survive in the NL then so be it.
Of all the near 1000 that applied for role back in January they can't all be in employment, and surely a few of them would be worth inviting back for an interview.

I didn’t apply for the role this time around, but I am sure I could have done better on tactics and motivated the team yesterday.rebeldagger wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 8:14 am I'll look forward to that video then, best make sure I've got the notification bell turned on!

Once we’re in the National South the club is likely to fall further or go pop.
King and Young have to go today.
The list of disasters is becoming endless. Sacking an experienced guy who had just taken us on our best cup run in years and leaving us in mid table to be replaced with someone who has not won a game in 13 attempts. Now nearly 28 players coming in and out with no rhyme or reason over the season. The Justham debacle. Players coming over to the crowd and actually saying , 'it's not us, it's those up top'. Telling players mid season they won't be wanted next year. Not extending loan deals for players like Morais and woodhouse who are better than any we have already. Having two permanent sick notes like Umerah and Greco Cox who mysteriously were once ( still are some would allege) on King's agency books. I'd better stop there.
They must have some one in place for the Halifax game. It may not work but it must be worth a try.

Well I suppose there is an obvious candidate to come in to the end of the season but he has a role at Southend. At the time that Mr Strevens was sacked I wondered if Mr Still coming in to help him may have been a better option but that makes Mr King redundant. I can't be bothered to do the research but it wouldn't surprise me if there were some complex financial arrangements under pinning all of this and a web of companies. The chairman spoke of his PR company in a recent video and one assumes Mr King's agency is also a limited company. Who knows what links and shareholdings exist.
I tend to agree with Auntie Merge that things wouldn't go well in NLS. Unlike Torquay and Yeovil core support isn't that large and a lot of the older support has either died out or moved out of the area. West Ham's move to Stratford clearly hasn't helped either. If the current owners maintained a full time squad there would be a chance of getting back up but maybe only for a year or two?

I just can't believe that in almost 9 Years hovering in this Step 1 Non league its come to this? After the 1st Season down we had the ill feted elinimator with the Veggies but slightly came giving us a bit of future hope, Then as always money available to push that agenda higher seemed to evaporate and out of the blue came Hopkln then Flag gate erupted and thats's that and to be fair Peter Taylor under no dollars did hold us just about, then across the Pond with great high hopes the Yanks arrived with alot further expectations and no sign of any where near play offs even with more cash for Daryl and Co that again went back West and to Mr D Hall and now to watching a team of complete no hopers, Its beats me bad that the number one agenda should have been take what it takes TO KEEP players like Doidge, and especially Michael Cheek, Wilkinson, Walker, even Luke Norris with finding a great skipper holding in the back line and at once get a great feel factor within the whole Club again we would have done this promotion way, way before! Now looks set for a disasterous 2025-26 Season cozying up to crowds of 5 to 700.
I highly doubt this. We had Strevs on a low salary high bonus contract to make it easier to sack him if needed. I would imagine we did the same with Young. Don’t confuse this situation with Dan Hall being tight. It’s because Dan Hall is a retard that Young is still hererebeldagger wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 8:14 am

The club must be loaded now then, no bonuses since NYDNBDag wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 1:09 pmI highly doubt this. And yet there's one common denominator here, who seemingly happens to be made of teflon.Dagdale wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 12:14 pm I just can't believe that in almost 9 Years hovering in this Step 1 Non league its come to this? If Young went I’d think the owners were taking relegation seriously, two more to go.
