Re: My Annual Shameless Plug

Great to see so many Daggers fans in attendance yesterday, including of course, Daggers legend Steve Thompson!!! Ex manager John Still was also spotted!!!

Was great day, and Alastair Cook was superb throughout the day, signing 100s of autographs and posing for 100s of photos.

Re: Best Home & Away Fans Pubs...?

I always put in a plug for my local, the Essex Yeoman in Upminster. It is 7 miles from the ground, but is only 4 stops on tube. So for people in cars, coaches or using the C2C National Rail Service it is very convenient (only 2 miles from the M25). Is very football friendly with several TVs, cheap f...

My Annual Shameless Plug

So for all you cricket fans, Upminster CC will be hosting their Annual Benefit Cricket Match against an Essex CCC XI on Sunday 7th September. This year's match is in aid of England Captain Alastair Cook's Benefit Year, so we are expecting a bumper crowd. The game will begin at 2.00pm, and is a 30 ov...

Re: RIP Derek Almond

Very sad news. One of those people you always saw round the Club, always on the go sorting something out, helping someone with something. One of the people who did so much to make the Club such a well respected and friendly organisation, along with the likes of Thommo, Dave Andrews, Gerry etc.

RIP

Re: Season Tickets 2014/2015

The main point, as Sussex has said, is about money upfront (Cashflow). This is the killer for a lot of businesses, especially during tough times, and especially for businesses with a seasonal turnover, which can be effected by things like the weather, ie a football Club. I will have been to 16 home ...

Re: Season Tickets 2014/2015

Best thing the Club have done for Years!!! Brilliant idea, and a very brave one. It is difficult to do exact sums without know the detailed numbers, but he slash is probably costing around £20k in money lost on those who would have renewed anyway. Therefore, the Club will need to sell around 130 &qu...

Re: Shades Of 2010?!?!?!

Exactly my thoughts Sussex. Last three years, games at this stage have been spent checking phones and radios (one or two people do still take them!!!) and it will be nice if we are winning on Saturday to be looking out for other scores because it effects our chances of going up, rather than down. Si...

Re: Johny Judas.

I must be missing something. I can't find any anti Wayne stuff anyway, and rightly so, the bloke has done an amazing job, whatever happens in last 6 games. I don't think anyone is arguing with the sentiment on Still (some of his disciples will I suppose), but are just wondering why you have bought i...

Re: Who's going down ?

Torquay gone, probably Northampton, if not Wycombe. Northampton will do well to get out from here. There pick up when Wilder first took over is long gone, I think they are one win in 8 now?? Even if they get 10 points (which would be big effort) it would mean the others having very bad finish to sea...

Re: Just a quick mention...

Indeed, I remember a bit of a disturbance of some sort, which is quiet rare at our games. We were in the stand along the side, opposite the main stand.

Re: Just a quick mention...

I believe Mr Kettle's finest hour in a Daggers game was losing control of a JPT game at Gillingham, around 2008 or 2009!!!
