Re: M-m-m-my Corona

Works dried up for the foreseeable future so tidied up my shed, sorted out my sea fishing gear and I've been flying my drone. Which other than footy are my biggest hobbies.
Anyone else got a drone ?

Re: Barnet in trouble!

Can't see how this would be anything to celebrate.
Football clubs do lots for community employ people and provide all the things we get by attending our club.

Re: Finishing the season

Let's say only 50,000 die of CV , who is actually going to pipe up about poxy non league football in the wake of that ? Given every club will have fans staff or families effected by it.

Unless they can play the outstanding games It is the only way to sort it out fairly.

Re: Finishing the season

Just to be devil's advocate Yes they could play behind closed doors. What if I'm a player and I'm worried about catching/ spreading the virus? How can you make me play ? The only lawsuit I could see having some weight would be against the national League if they were to insist teams play. It is mild...

Re: Finishing the season

Defend yourself against this:

" We were told by govt that mass gatherings were going to be banned. They subsequently were so we didn't want to risk the health of fans staff and players"

Game over !

It's a natural disaster no lawsuit will be worth the paper it's written on.

Re: Coronavirus

Games went ahead in our league yesterday. On Friday I thought there was no chance of our one happening but then it got to Saturday and both clubs were putting out previews and 'Matchday' tweets which hardly indicates it'll be off. Just because our owner was critical also doesn't mean it'll be off -...

Re: Coronavirus

From the moment the prem league announced matches were being cancelled it was always going to be off. When the national League said they were going ahead and your chairman says he'd never endanger fans or his players PERIOD! that is surely a bit of a glaring indication of things to come. Then other...

Re: Finishing the season

Right...... The oracle that is ARNU ( me) predicts the following: All league's will be null and void. Nobody promoted or relegated this season. Whoever is left financially able to will go again when it's safe to do so. Some clubs will fold, maybe, but probably not, the govt might dig them out. Don't...

Re: Coronavirus

I think if in 3 weeks I still don't know anyone with the disease I'd be inclined to think it's all a hoax.

I'm still going to the gym and ordering Chinese takeaway.

I just don't think blaming anyone for being cautious is particularly helpful given nobody knows yet what might happen.

Re: Coronavirus

Yeovil just postponed their game with Barnet today. Barnet fans will probably have just been setting off.
Sense will prevail, but probably not until we're turning off the M25.

Re: Coronavirus

Almost overnight I have no work. I will cope. Many won't. When loads of people start dieing ( just 250 in Italy yesterday) maybe that will focus minds. Today is reasonably normal give it a few days Bury's plight will seem most unimportant. You know they're going to cancel the league, today's game is...

Their figures say a 1% mortality rate with a worst case scenario of 80% of the population catching the virus. That equates to around 50,000 deaths.
You can't add up.
If the population is 65million,
80% of that is 52million
And 1% of 52million die that is
520,000.
