Correct Mr Appsville. The fixture list hasn't been updated. The Chesterfield game is still listed for 6 January too.

Re: NL: Ebbsfleet United (A) 28 October 2023

For a variety of reasons I haven't managed to get along this season. Things seem to be going pretty much as I thought when it started. We've got just about enough quality to keep out of real trouble but not enough firepower to trouble the play off chasing sides on a regular basis. From what I heard ...

Re: FA Cup: Bracknell Town (A) 14 October 2023

I can see Strevs sacked too. As I have said in another post before, apparently he is on a very low “normal person” base salary with a lot of bonus clauses. It’s actually smart business for once because it means if we needed to sack him we could do it cheaply. BUT the age old question is who do we b...

Re: The Youth

As well as Daggers I follow AFC Sudbury, southern league central. They have run an academy for some time. https://www.afcsudbury.co.uk/a/afc-academy-59765.html

If a lower league team in South Suffolk can do this why can't Dagenham? Note the impressive Stokes of Aldershot was there

Re: NL: AFC Flyde (H) 2 September

ULEZ and the train issue did for me. Can't get to the next few because of a couple of family gatherings and clashes with Essex cricket for a Tuesday game. I think putting up walk up prices is counter productive too. If the cricket I'm going to gets rained off I'm not inclined to pay £19 .

Re: ULEZ Charges

Got a similar letter to Sussex. As I expected it knocks out games when there isn't a rail service (Boxing Day for a start). It won't help gates.

Re: Justham Off to Southend?

Good shot stopper and one of the few players in our squad who are promotion standard. As for Southend, I believe their keeper went elsewhere a few days ago. Also (and this may or may not be relevant to the football club) work has stopped on the housing development at their new site. The contractor h...

Re: Pre season friendlies

It always struck me our attendances flattened when West Ham moved to Stratford and again Tottenham's move. The extra 20,000 plus punters have come from somewhere. My lad pointed out since the West Ham move we have struggled, Colchester have struggled, Southend hsve more or less gone bust (apparently...

Re: Season Tickets

I've not had a season ticket for a while. I always find it odd that people are asked to commit before the fixtures are out. I already know of three commitments in August and September that might clash with a home game. Add in rail engineering works, strikes on the railway and Boxing Day when there i...

Re: Daggers Retained List

McCallum was probably the best centre half we had in the club. He would score with good service but he rarely got it. We have had a lot of wide players who couldn't cross a road.

Re: Season over then

Mr Thompson's position is an interesting one to me. I reckon I've spoken to him about half a dozen times in the last decade and never had an issue with him. I did witness some foul language after the Everton cup tie directed at a fan. I suspect both parties had been drinking. I met a Daggers fan at ...

Re: New signing

"Mutual" in "mutual consent" basically means an agreement between the parties that the employer may dismiss the employee. My wife had to consent to being dismissed in order to receive a severance payment some years ago. It basically means a deal has been struck.

Re: Rance Gone

I don't pretend to know anything about who got paid what, but from my knowledge of severance payments the first £30k is free of income tax for the recipient and they don't attract national insurance so it can be to the employee's and employer's mutual advantage to pay a cash sum equivalent to the re...

As Sussex to me as we left the ground, it wasn't a memorable game but you'd take the win all day long. Very different from the away game where we were absolutely battered but got a draw.
