Is anyone interested in trialling a forum prediction game from Tranmere to the end of the season?
Something along the lines of this...

1. A thread will be started before each game for predictions.

2. You post once in the thread your Score prediction.

3. If you predict the exact score correctly you get 4 points

4. If you get the result right (win /draw / lose) and get only Daggers goal tally right you get 3 points.

5. If you get the result right (win /draw / lose) and only get the opposition goal tally right you get 2 points.

6. If you get the result right (win /draw / lose) but nothing else, you get 1 point.

7. Wrong result or failure to predict 0 points.

8. This will all go into a league table. No prizes for the winner during this trial.

Anyone up for it?
Anyone see any loopholes?
Anyone want to help mark this?

Think the old unofficial Facebook page used to do this. Was quite good. Would be nice to have something football related to comment on too

A couple of possible loop holes:

1) No entry after 2:55pm on Saturdays / 7:40pm for Midweek
2) No using "edit" to change your prediction

Maybe also add time of first goal scored (closest from all the entries) gets 10 bonus points.

The idea came from participating in the Tinpot, Saltpot and other forum prediction tables

We could say that once you have posted your prediction admin will lock your post so it cannot be edited; any subsequent predictions from the same poster will be ignored. You know how much admin loves locking posts. :blush2:

The problem with giving 10 points, is that it pushes a person way ahead of others, so the prediction league can lose its competitiveness really easily.
An extra 1 point for the EXACT time of the first goal scored or the name of the first goal scorer could work though.

Sounds good, maybe you could get extra points for guessing the correct goal scorer (s) for each team.

If there are any issues with the update to the site please post them in the feedback thread.
At the top of the page. There are some tweaks due such as the header and making the usernames bigger.

I'd be interested.

We run a prem one at work and predictions have to be in the day before the fixture. Let me know if there's any thing i can do to help.

I'm in. How about 5 points for correctly guessing the team and score, and 2 for just the team.
