It seems the first pre-season game (albeit Academy game) is on Monday against Woodford Town.
Does anyone know who Woodford Town are nowadays. They folded about 15 years ago but from what I gleaned someone took over a club near Enfield and called them Woodford Town a couple of years ago playing in Bush Hill Park in a stadium that flooded and so tried to complete the season playing at another ground, but eventually gave up before completing the season. They don't seem to have played last season, but presumably are now organised again.
So where is the game being played - do they have a new stadium?

Might be over Wanstead flats!! Sounds like a proper rag tag outfit.

Anyone thinking of watching the academy game against Woodford Town this evening should note that the venue and kick off time has changed,

The game will now take place on the 4G pitch in White Hart Lane which is part of the New River Sport & Fitness complex. The postcode is given as N22 5QW and the game now kicks off at 8.30pm

The remnants of the ground is still in Snakes Lane, and has been left vacant for 15 years in an act of incompetence by the Council. Even for me as a carrot crunching "green eco-warrior" I can see that it is a site ripe for residential development. Any Council with any nous would have got a developer to acquire the site of the ground for residential development with a proviso of "planning gain" to redevelop Ashton Playing Fields to a stadium and sports complex for the borough to be proud of - rather than splashing a tin of paint on Cricklefields each year.
